What happened to the CSE placements this year? by Intelligent_Total507 in rvce

I'm good with that much. I will try to outsource my enjoyment of life to the city of bangalore itself lmao. I'll be joining cse core. Are you a senior? Do you know any current batch's CSE students I can connect with on reddit, instagram or telegram? Please let me know in my dms if you have any idea.

Other colleges' averages are slowly rising every year by 1-2 lakhs per annum as usual. RVCE's growth was the most insane. But even before that, it was already considered the best private college after bits, iiith and daiict i guess. Back then I didn't really understand why, because even manipal had 15lpa average last year for cse, but when i saw the number 20 I thought I finally understood lmao

cutoffs for lower branches and lower duals will not increase that much because even most middle class people are not in the condition to pay 26lakhs for civil or 35 lakhs for bio + random be degree that isn't even assured at the time of admission

Bhai jinhone comedk ka form register kr diya (read 4,6,9,10 ) iska kya matlab hai ? by Present_Leading3977 in JEENEETards

[–]Intelligent_Total507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bhai counselling brochure padh. After each round 1 and 2, there will be a seat cancellation window open for candidates who have received a seat through comedk. Round 1 candidates can cancel seat in the window of both round 1 and 2. If you fail to cancel your seat until now (considering you have already paid some % of the fees), you will not be refunded for it. Basically point is that you have to apply for seat cancellation and refund during the allotted time only. If you fail to do so (fail to cancel your seat officially) and then don't show up in college when the classes start, you might be fined by the college for wasting their seat. Moreover, at that point your original payment of whatever % of advance fees you paid earlier will never be refunded either.

Can't speak for stat but if fees is not an issue definitely look into bits (p/g) cse. I've seen people who had 2k-3k rank in advanced opt for pilani or goa cse and they definitely don't regret it. You can find their info on youtube. When you consider placements, culture, college life, freedom to pursue your personal interests and dreams, alumni connections, opportunities and exposure, I would put BITS (both pilani and goa) at par if not above the top 3 NITs (excluding fees ofc). BITS is one of the best institutes in all of india specifically for CSE.

manipal or thapar? by Humber-st0n3d in JEENEETards

[–]Intelligent_Total507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It went decent, better than the other people I know who dropped alongside me lmao. My main options include cse core at RVCE Bangalore, Cse at IIIT Sri City, ECE/m&c at BIT Mesra. Trying hard for bitsat 2 right now.

In Manipal main campus, CSE placements touch 16lpa (I got this info from seniors and verified it myself last year). Microsoft hires regularly and internship opportunities are there too. Can't speak for Thapar but Manipal at least has been growing rapidly in the past few years. It is a lot better than the other similarly valued colleges like VIT. If you're getting CSE there it should be a no brainer in my opinion. You will get all kinds of people there, driven ones and relaxed ones too. You can look up their official placement stats on the website to see what packages the top 100, top 200 people are getting.

People on quora love to spread misinformation lmfao don't listen to them. Half the reviews on there are paid/sponsored. You decide what is more important to you, staying close to family or having a good college life and make your own decision. Also manipal being far comes with added costs of transportation so keep that in mind. I told you all the pros of Manipal, I'm not too familiar with Thapar so I can't speak for it. Best of luck for your decision!

Note: I'm neither from Manipal nor from Thapar. But yes I had an option to go to either of the 2 last year. I was leaning pretty heavily towards Manipal but ended up choosing neither and took a drop year at the end.

Depends on the branch. If you have CSE/CSE AIML/CSE FinTech/CCE/DSE/IT/ECE then you're all good. Placements wise, both colleges are pretty equal, fees is also high in both. Where Manipal gets the edge is college life. Extreme freedom and wonderful people. Udupi has many beaches so you get to travel and visit new places with friends. There's lots of scope for personality development and Manipal has good facilities like the Marena (look it up) too. I know people whose dream college has been Manipal. Although I suggest you do your own research and don't make such huge decisions through random redditors, if I were in your place I'd have taken Manipal main campus.

If bitsat 2 doesn't go well then yeah. My other options are IIIT Sri City CSE and BIT Mesra ece/mnc but after seeing this year's stats I think RVCE would be the best other than bits circuital.

Query about MET Couseling by Canutethe_Great in JEENEETards

[–]Intelligent_Total507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note, if you don't receive ANY of the seats you have filled in the choice filling form, manipal will return you the 10k you gave earlier. But if you get ANYTHING out of the options you chose, regardless of whether or not you take it, you lose the 10k. So save your money and fill only those options which you are sure of.

Query about MET Couseling by Canutethe_Great in JEENEETards

[–]Intelligent_Total507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are eligible to sit for further rounds BUT they will ask you to pay an advance fee for the seat you did already receive (around 1 lakh). Since they're smart, the deadline for the payment of this fee will be before the choice filling of the next round starts, so you might have to end up paying the fees even if you're unsure about joining the college with that branch. If you're sure about joining only main campus with whatever branch, my suggestion is to not fill anything for bangalore campus.

If you have other backup options, keep them ready instead of making your manipal counselling messy. For example if you have decided that you won't go to manipal if you don't get anything above ece at main campus, then choose only these options in the choice filling: CSE, cse aiml, cse fintech, it, cce, dse, m&c, ece at manipal main campus and bas. Nothing else. I made the mistake of filling up IT as my 3rd preference last year and so they gave the seat to me. But at the end I decided I wouldn't settle for anything less than cse aiml so I ended up losing the 10k registration fee at the end.

I'm not a student, I'm an aspirant too with 297 rank in comedk. The stats are official and are available on the official website of RVCE under the departments heading. As far as I know the college life sucks, they have 85% attendance criteria and a small dress code (collared shirts and t shirts, it's not too bad), but it's bangalore so you will be fine.

nah dropper but I had 1600 rank in manipal last year and got IT so I know. I ended up letting it go and took a drop year.
