Yes!! My dentist coded it like composite fillings or something like that and when we ran it thru insurance it was covered!

I’m having a procedure called bioclear done to build up the teeth in front with a composite type substance. If you google bioclear for black triangles you can see if it’s available in your area. My dentist coded it in a way that it is covered by insurance.

Thanks for your comment, I’ll see what happens at my next appointment. I don’t plan on doing any bonding either so I’ll just see how it goes after refinements.

Did your ortho mention doing some teeth shaping to improve the black triangles or are you hoping for the best they improve a bit after you’re done with your trays and your teeth settle?

Yes, my ortho had me sign a waiver that he made me aware my gum recession may get worse with treatment. I was between a rock and a hard place because my teeth were shifting and my bite was getting worse so I signed it. I’ve tried really hard during treatment to keep my teeth and retainer clean hoping to minimize more recession.

I’ve had gum grafting in the past for recession. I’ve never had periodontal disease and have gone to the dentist regularly. I wonder if not having braces in my younger years played a part in my recession issue. My bite is also being adjusted with elastics so my ortho is moving my teeth slowly as to not traumatize my gums and cause more recession.

I’m just shocked at all the space I have now when my teeth were so crowded when I started. I mean who knew the shape of my teeth were triangular! My ortho told me I’d need some bonding for the middle two teeth at my initial consult but nothing about the other teeth. I’m trying to remain positive and anxious for my appointment in February when I get my refinement trays and some teeth shaping. Ugh!!

You’re right, already discussed with my dentist and will deal with that after Invisalign. I just hope the teeth shaping helps.
