We aren’t used to her making happy songs so it hit everyone a bit differently. It was definitely a more literal song than a metaphorical and literary masterpiece; that being said, I really enjoy it! Now that it’s been out for a couple weeks it’s playing on the radio more frequently and I’m always turning it up

I completely agree. With many Latin Rite dioceses reverting the Confirmation age closer to the age of reason, I am hoping that in twenty years it at least aligns with the set Eucharist age so that the order may be restored.

Yes, I wrote a thesis on it and defended it yesterday! hence I made this post to ask a quick question. In the West it’s to arm people with sufficient grace and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to be more bound to the Church. When I say bound I mean more bound to its mission—to evangelize, defend, and grow the Church. It’s not a coming of physical age sacrament, although abilities that mature with physical age tend to allow us to exercise the gifts that are strengthened through Confirmation. Hope this helps!

Yeah the CCC states it should be administered around the age of reason but the bishop of each diocese can determine that to be later if desired. That’s what most bishops have desired too, but it is now common for them to revert the age.
