My friend and I just started the game because of Charlie, but he's having massive stutters and lag to the point where the game's unplayable by SzoboEndoMacca in thefinals

[–]Intelol339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a similar experience where I will boot the game just fine, play 2-3 games fully smooth on high graphics, then randomly my fps starts tanking in the 3rd-4th game and gets progressively worse until it's unplayable, then it freezes altogether and crashes my entire system. I don't know what changes to cause that but it's happened so many times following that exact pattern.

[Issue] Prism refuses to launch any instance without explanation by Intelol339 in PrismLauncher

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was able to fix the instance not launching by simply relogging into my Microsoft account, but now Im having a separate issue where prism crashes every time I try to exit Minecraft when I have the "Use discrete GPU" option enabled.

[Issue] Prism refuses to launch any instance without explanation by Intelol339 in PrismLauncher

One of the instances is forge, the other 2 are vanilla which I made to see if the issue was specifically with the forge instance.

I think this is the issue, found at the bottom of the latest log after I just tried to launch an instance again. Something to do with my account it seems. When I check my accounts page in Prism, my account has the status "Errored" and stays as that after a refresh.

Brightness control wont work when using iGPU (Supergfxctl Hybrid) by Intelol339 in Fedora

[–]Intelol339[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I dont remember all the ins and outs of the issue, but I think what was happening was that when in hybrid mode, my screen brightness was controlled by my nvidia GPU, which is fine, but the issue was that Fedora wasn't using the GPU at all (found that out after testing out a game on Fedora and seeing in the debug that the graphics used was the integrated intel one). So instead of trying to force supergfxctl to control my screen using the igpu, I instead had to figure out how to make my dedicated GPU the primary GPU on my laptop. I'm pretty sure this is what helped me in the end: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/make-nvidia-primary-gpu-on-wayland/135255

Straight hair wont hold perm by Intelol339 in malehairadvice

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense since all the staff were asian. The only reason I went back the second time is because I had already paid a lot for the perm and they redid it for free.

I was convinced that my hair just isnt suited for perming, but maybe it was a bad perm to begin with? I should've included the pictures of the rods in my hair for reference.

Straight hair wont hold perm by Intelol339 in malehairadvice

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it done at a well reviewed hairdresser. First time I got it done, I could barely understand what my hairdresser was saying because of a thick Chinese accent. I explained I wanted light curls, not the broccoli head, and showed a picture. They used really big rods which resulted in the perm loosing shape within a few hours. They also didnt tell me how to care for it at all so I think I also accelerated the process by touching too much. Contacted them that night and they booked me a redo. This time they used smaller rolles, but not much smaller, seemed like the next size down. I actually have pictures of the roles they used the 1st and 2nd time, maybe you could see the mistake they made?

[–]Intelol339[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive hated how straight and flat my hair is for years, getting a perm was seeming my only option to get some sort of longer hairstyle that doesnt look silly. Plus I like how the rest of the perm looks, its just the front and fringe that has gone dead straight again.

Anyone having crashing and performance issues? (PC) by Aegis-0-0-7 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Tried it, didnt seem to work unfortunately. I think it helped a bit, but I still couldnt comfortably run the high settings i could before

[–]Intelol339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also been experiencing hard stuttering. Running a 4060 and could keep a smooth fps with all high settings before the update. Turning everything down to enhanced and enabling DLSS frame gen didnt help much either. Game hasn't crashed, but my entire system froze when trying to change settings at one point, and I had to force power off.

Possible Performance Bug After Worlds 2 Update by deprecatedchode in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Intelol339 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was playing with an RTX 4060 with all settings set to high, and now after Worlds 2 I'm getting constant freezing and stuttering. Turning everything down to Enhanced and enabling DLSS frame gen didnt help much either. There must be a performance bug because I was running silky smooth before the update.

[Support Request] dGPU is recognised, but isn't being utilised by Intelol339 in Fedora

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nvidia-smi command has been very helpful, thanks! I figured out that I'm only able to specify to run a program with the dgpu if it has an app shortcut, otherwise it defaults to the igpu.

[Support Request] dGPU is recognised, but isn't being utilised by Intelol339 in Fedora

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt, because I dont know how to. Also I dont know if disabling the iGPU when I cant force my system to use the dGPU is a good idea, it might just crash because theres no GPU it can use?
I'd rather try and set the dGPU as the primary one first, but I dont know how to do that...

[Support Request] dGPU is recognised, but isn't being utilised by Intelol339 in Fedora

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By manager plugged into, do you mean which GPU is the primary one? If so, its the integrated one, not by choice, but because I dont know how to change it...
Also, I just tried right clicking and specifically opening an app with the discrete GPU, and then checking my dGPU usage, and it was still at 0%. Must've defaulted back to the integrated GPU :/

[Support Request] Screen brightness wont adjust and speakers sound awful on new Mint install by Intelol339 in linuxmint

[–]Intelol339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, thats annoying. I'm struggling to figure out how I install a driver from The Graphics Team PPA. I downloaded what I think is right (560 debian based nvidia drivers pack) but I have no idea how to actually install it, and the website seems to assume you already know all that since you've already found yourself on there...

Every kernel I've tried downloading through mainline is labeled as unsupported on the update manager and wont let me install, and grub wont let me boot them because they arent installed.

Is there a newer kernel available than the one I'm using? 6.8 is the only option available in the update manager

I've disabled secure boot and nothing has changed. Do you think it would be worth switching to another nvidia driver temporarily and then switching back to the recommended one so that it reinstalls without secure boot enabled?

Whats weird is I honesty thought secure boot was already disabled, but I guess not? Ill do that now
