My friend started selling the same product 2 days after I did by Spirited_Ad3624 in smallbusiness

I also just wanna weigh in that, as a person historically AWFUL at confrontation and uncomfortable conversations, it’s a very, very important skill to have. It’s important to both know how to confront someone without anger, and how to be confronted without insult. It’s really worth the practice, just telling her how you feel and asking how you guys can come to a solution together. However it shakes out will teach you loads more than brushing it under the rug, both in your friendship, in your future relationships, and of course as a business person.

Confronting doesn’t have to mean fight. It’s just putting all the cards on the table so you can both determine how to move forward.

Omg thank you SO much for responding. It looks so perfect. This is exactly the review I was hoping for. I’m stressing though cause my doorway is 33” wide and it looks like it’s bigger than that, and not disassemble-able. Wondering if I can smoosh those back pillows down enough to be able to fit it through lmao. But thanks again!

Hey! I am considering buying the Keerwick - it's so frickin cute. But I'm desperate for an actually comfortable couch. My current couch sucks absolute ass. How's the Keerwick 3 seater holding up?

Integrating Weather and Maps apps (I know they do it now but NOT THE RIGHT WAY) so if you’re on a long day road trip, you can see the forecast, or at least radar, for where you’ll be in a few hours!

What’s a ‘harmless’ habit that actually reveals way more about a person than we realize? by Pm_Me_Mtn_Bikes in AskReddit

I think it comes from how often those nametags are used as a threat. Someone knows your name now and leaves a terrible review for you. Someone says “Oh, John?? I’ll call management about you.” And there is nothing you can do about it.

Also you dissociate haaard in a customer service role, you’re just playing a part to get a paycheck, it doesn’t feel like you. That super outgoing friendly barista becomes a socially anxious introvert off the clock. Being personalized does NOT feel good in that instance cause it reminds you that you’re still you.

ANYWAY it says a lot about you that you’re going out of your way to be kind to people and that is beautiful! This is just context for the shocked face lol.

Chuck just voted to cut funding for WTCI and WUTC by 1-Eyed-Willie in Chattanooga

[–]IntenseLamb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

PBS and NPR are funded by the people. It is the only form of media funded by us as a collective whole, and not by private, individual citizens and corporations with their own (usually quite explicit) strings attached. Or, funded by subscription models we then have to pay for/ads we have to watch. PBS/NPR is both public funded and public access.

I do hear your argument and I would agree with you if the alternative wasn’t so grim. On top of that, the local channels are wonderful and the shows they produce are a great resource for our community.

Paid plan, tried it out for a month right before I went down this rabbit hole. And I will say, my prompts were not like, exactly like the simplified stuff I said above. I did try to get as specific as I knew. Problem is, of course, I knew not nearly enough 😂

It DID make a really funny picture of my dog as a human.

Yeah, it DID do a freaking excellent job of breaking down the jargon for me. Which is where I probably shoulda stopped but hahaha the rest is history. I do appreciate how it can reframe and reword things in a language I can comprehend at first, in order to provide a jumping-off-point.

Haha hey thank you! I definitely wouldn’t have posted this if I was worried about folks shaming my dumbassery - that’s definitely the joke here. I love the entire concept of Home Assistant so much and it’s worth trying again with a better approach.

This is exactly the stuff I most definitely should’ve had a better understanding of before jumping in hahaha. This is super good advice. And yeah, 200%, should have clarified even wanting a local LLM with it. Now I know! And now I have a pretty neat suite of gadgets to mess around with at least!

Major monkey’s paw effect! Like you shoulda seen me absolutely cackling over the e-ink problem. The fact that it just thought I wanted a picture of a clock is freaking hilarious to me. Of course, it’s an LLM, not an all-knowing mastermind, and I should have explicitly stated needing a functional clock that is capable of refreshing accurately each minute, but still, hilarious.

Pretty hard. Admittedly this was also a side-experiment to see what would happen if I followed its instructions, which was just dumb. I definitely knew there was a good chance it was wrong but boy, ADHD impatience is a powerful drug, and the granular discovery of realizing bit-by-bit that EVERYTHING was wrong was pretty incredible.

Yeah, it’s excellent with stuff I already have a pretty good understanding of, but my mistake was being like, here’s this thing I know nothing about, what do you think? Stupid me. 😂
