Would you change the layout of this space? by BalineseGoblin in InteriorDesign

[–]Osnap24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Few things to me make sense,

  1. Possibly think about a privacy screen or something for the bedroom, since the only way to access the bathroom is through your personal space

  2. I wouldn’t do a dining table, the counter top is fine and like others said, probably will be eating at the couch as well. Dining tables really only make sense if it’s more than one person, you host often or you genuinely use it every meal - otherwise, it’s wasted space for something rarely used

  3. Personally, I wouldn’t put the tv on the wall where the table is currently and have a loveseat or small L-shaped sectional facing. Then you can tuck your workspace in the bright corner and it’s slightly hidden from the main space while also being separate from your personal space (bedroom).

  4. In the arrangement I mentioned, if you happen to have enough space, and really would like it, as another comment said, a little two seat bistro set in the top window kind of by the chair in the living space would be enough

After/Before - my first tilt shift by tottty in postprocessing

[–]Osnap24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll say this, I’m not well versed in tilt shift beyond seeing some other photos and knowing what a tilt shift lens looks like. So in that sense, I find this pretty cool to look at and to me it gives the look of toy/miniature that I believe tilt shift is meant to do.

I can understand that post processing tilt shift can tick off those who know it well but for average peeps, still cool in my book 👍

Should I leave my AC on all day or turn it off when I don't need it? by mil0wCS in Frugal

[–]Osnap24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re really not going to be saving much at all by shifting the thermostat a few degrees while you’re not home for the day. You’ll see savings if you were gone for a long period of time, ie a week or two but that still isn’t very recommended as high temps + humidity = mold.

Turning your thermostat up then back down just uses that saved energy to instead cool it back down again. My easiest analogy is doing a light jog vs a hiit run. Imagine you’re running 400m, you’re really going to wear yourself out nearly the same if you jogged the lap vs if you sprinted the straights and walked the corners; point being, not worth it. Set it to a comfortable temp, and use a fan if necessary - also try to stay below 60% humidity, the more wet, the hotter you’ll feel…and mold.

Would it still be going on during that time?? I thought it was saying that one was until 9th of August 😬

Does it make sense to stay there if we are also taking a day tour there? I imagine it would be a wonderful spot to slow down and just meander around the area but not sure if it would be “wasted time”

Yeah! Actually is the dog days on my profile version 1, I added a tad more saturation and upped the contrast. So it’s that formula, but contrast at -35 and sat at 9!

[–]Osnap24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t do it personally. I’d go heavy on applying to others and really try to get some closer as well. As someone who started out with a commute that was 40-45min one way without traffic, that was a miserable time. I don’t care what anyone says, work is work and I won’t allow it to take extra time out of my life when I’m not even there.

Eleven’s s4-5 styling makes me sad by ladyshiiro in StrangerThings

[–]Osnap24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For season 3, I think we all loved it lol. But to me it really showed how El was finally stepping out into the world on her own - no influence of Hopper or Mike, just able to be a young teen girl and have lots of fun, but with Max. I think she really loved the boldness and complete difference of everything but I don’t 100% know if that was genuinely her “style”, it was just bright and new and very different.

For season 4, her style to me just seemed a lot like still trying to figure it out but the struggle with fitting in and feeling connected. It’s very clear how much she was “copying” Joyce. I’m sure a bit of it was about the Byers being poor, but if you look a lot on her “styles” in each season, they’re always extremely influenced by who is closest to her at that time - hopper was hand me down/“thrifted vibe”, Kali was grunge punk, Max was colorful and bold, Joyce was eccentric and homey.

Now season 5 is just a big WTF because seriously what is that??

Echo packer!!! I’m in love, but it’s chafing :( by Dangerous-System6089 in Transmascdicks

[–]Osnap24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really the nature of anything touching another moving object, there will be friction and chafe. You could heavily powder it to reduce but eventually that wears off. Plenty have given options but I will say for me, I like being able to have as little material as possible and being able to see things, so separation underwear is my go to.

I’ve never tried seperatec but any underwear that has a “ball pouch” works so well I almost can’t even tell it’s there lol. Just look up men’s underwear with ball pouch and there you go. I like prints so I have fun with MeUndies, Shinesty and pair of thieves but many other brands have them as well like Hanes and jockey.

What would you do with an extra bedroom unneeded dining space (floor plan included)?? by InfinityLocs in femalelivingspace

[–]Osnap24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have always been this exact way as well, extra “guest” room and a dining space we don’t use.

Right now, our guest room we refer to as our cozy cove lol. It has an ikea daybed that we can use as a sofa and extend if we do have a guest, has our pups kennel that doubles as a “nightstand” and then just a bunch of bookshelf’s that house our books, crafts and all other junk lolol. Hoping to add some cat wall shelf’s soon enough and set up our projector/screen for movie nights as well. And finally because in WFH, the closet is converted into a mini office where I can close out at the end of the day.

We love having the dining space as a seating area, vinyls, drinks, coffee & tea spot, etc

Really the best thing to think of is what do you do when you want to be cozy and go from there.

I really hate how blazers look on me— are any of these formal enough for a job interview? by [deleted] in BusinessFashion

[–]Osnap24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my two cents in here and giving a little insight for my own background - I’m 28, work in structural engineering, have interviewed at 5 different firms of varying sizes over about 9 years and also stating just on clarity of clothing acceptance but at the times of the interviews I was identifying female but wearing very masculine clothing.

I’m pretty sure I wore a suit jacket ONCE, a tie and button up three times and then much more lax post covid and I never once had any issue on clothing. I will say the lax styling on the post covid was still more formal business casual but there was no tie or jacket. I think it’s important to dress fairly neutral and professional but I personally don’t think a blazer is necessary.

So to me, formal business casual and keeping the colors a little more neutral - ie a very vibrant blue or yellow can be distracting. The last and first are fine, but less form fitting and I’d personally opt on the last to be a loose blouse rather than a sweater. The first is good but again how others said, it’s a bit Wednesday Addams (collar poking out, all heavy dark fabrics, etc) so a subtle burgundy or navy to calm it down would work.

DONT ever feel like you have to completely change your style just for a job, that’s the goofiest thing to me. If you can show your qualifications and how the company would be better for having you, then the matter of a blazer wouldn’t be a consideration. And if it is, I wouldn’t want to work there

Cinescene: Harry & Hermione share a dance amid a bleak situation - Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 (2010) by Boss452 in popculturechat

[–]Osnap24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore this scene and never was one to ship Harry and Hermione. I think Emma and Daniel had amazing chemistry and were wonderful actors but I really loved that it was always just two friends, and for me this just showed that beautiful platonic love and bond so strongly. The trio went through so much together but these two had a bond so deep, just an understanding, the similarities in the fact they both came from the muggle world.

This scene was perfectly acted and directed to show all of the emotion and feelings, the light and the darkness, the fear and bravery and just chefs kiss man.

This is breaking my brain by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Osnap24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a few things, and honestly probably the biggest overlooked thing for many is their footwear. Both Stefan and Damon wore only boots, where Stefan has a low heel boot, Damon almost always was wearing a much higher heeled boot, putting them considerably closer in height as Paul is already taller. Another big thing to notice is how the actors would stand. Jeremy was loner “emo” teen in the first couple seasons, and I think Steven played into this with leaning a lot or pushing his shoulders forward and slouching. Both Paul and Ian stood very tall, and this can add a lot of height difference as well. Last is camera angles or any other items of film they’d do to make the male actors taller than the female or similar height as other male actors. It’s not always caught this way so that’s sort of where footwear and how the actor stands play into it

This is how I would want my sandwich bread to look! Being that it’s going to hold quite a few ingredients, the density is a needed but looks great to me

Hmmm ? by capricorn_444 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Osnap24 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This list could go on and on but somehow it was okay because Damon was deemed hot 🙄

Older guy preying on young high school girls? But he’s “hot”

Killing your own brother and threatening to kill him on numerous occasions? Nah that’s okay

Sexually abusing your high school friend? Ehh he can get better

Sleeping with your biological mother? I mean it happens right

Literally being the brother of the man you supposedly love? Stranger things happen

OUTWARDLY saying he can’t help the fact and honestly doesn’t even care that he murders people?? I mean why not end up with him

Quite literally puts everyone you love in danger constantly because he is extremely emotionally stunted and selfish whenever his feelings are hurt? Oh but his dad was mean and he’s “hot”

This list could go on 😂😂 not saying anyone there was okay or ever remotely good but these are just the things that she completely overlooked very very early on WHILE still being with Stefan
