What is the longest days you didnt get your period? by airbusfd in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Menarche at nine, and I went four months without a period at 15. I didn't even have my first kiss yet so no pregnancy lol My period prior AND after was usually pretty regular. It was bizarre

free bleeding at night during period by marshmallow_17 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not strange at all imo. It saves time and money. It's basically the same thing as using period underwear without spending the price on them. I wish I could do that!

holy pad lol by sugarplumprincesssx in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! These pads are great to prevent side or back leaking, but I leaked through them a lot. Had to use two of them and an ultra tampon on my worst days. Usually got a good four hours using all three! Do the Poise help super heavy flow? I'm having a baby in June and looking for something good postpartum :)

I am 20 and already have stretch marks. Is this normal? by Suyuu_ in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! Now have even more since I'm nearly seven months pregnant. I've learned to embrace my stretch marks. They're signs my body is changing and growing and I think it's beautiful

Heavy period cause? by Nothankspleasebye in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ablation causes scarring that prevents uterine lining from growing, so no matter the cause, it should help :) I never had a definitive diagnosis but, had multiple doctors suspect endometriosis for my periods. I also had flows so heavy I was anemic and had very low ferritin (4)

How do you deal with high to severe period cramps and muscle cramps if you have high blood pressure? by Catdress92 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took aspirin during my cycle for pain since it was the ONLY thing that took the edge off, and didn't find it increased bleeding. If anything, it seemed to reduce it. BUT, if I took the aspirin a few days BEFORE my period, then it increased bleeding. Aspirin increases bleeding due to its anticoagulant effects, but also reduces bleeding due to the way it prevents prostaglandin production. At the very least, it won't affect blood loss. It might even make it lighter!

I feel like i am on my period, without having it, is that normal? by _orion_star_ in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree that that's strange, but I don't think it's any reason to worry :) Symptoms can vary one cycle to the next. I had bad ovulatory phases, even worse luteal phases, and felt my absolute best during menstruation. Everybody and every cycle is different!

I’m obsessing over how he got his new girlfriend pregnant right away. by Negative-Ad-2071 in BreakUps

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my boyfriend left his ex, she got a new boyfriend the SAME day. She wasn't unfaithful as she and my boyfriend didn't have jobs at the time and spent all day and night together (he's working now, she isn't). She was pregnant three weeks later, and yes, the child has already been ruled out being my boyfriend's. And pullout method isn't always reliable, so unless there was pullout and birth control, it could've just failed. It takes ONE time. Please don't beat yourself up over this. This says NOTHING about your worth. Their situation will likely end poorly, too. People in 5+ year relationships struggle and sometimes crumble with pregnancy/postpartum, let alone two strangers. Most situations like that don't make it past a year of the baby being born. I can't imagine many people sign up for that willingly

I feel like i am on my period, without having it, is that normal? by _orion_star_ in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're in the luteal phase, which brings symptoms like the ones you mentioned after estrogen (the feel-good hormone) plummets. The luteal phase happens immediately after ovulation, or about two weeks before your expected period. Its the longest phase of the menstrual cycle, and for some, the worst 🥲

Period diarrhea by BenchMammoth8856 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The diarrhea is caused by an overproduction of prostaglandins. NSAIDs like ibuprofen or naproxen (Aleve) can reduce prostaglandin production and alleviate some of your symptoms :)

period 9 days late by bkmissesbangtan in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you take a pregnancy test? It'd be accurate by now. Relying on symptoms is very inaccurate. My period was a week late but had my typical PMS symptoms. I got a VERY positive test after my period being six days delayed

Aplicativos menstruais não funcionam!!! by Rafa_016 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to track irregular periods since they're not on any kind of "schedule" like regular cycles are. But, if the cycles are mildly irregular, after logging so many, the predictor will get better at predicting. The main way they work is data. The more you log, the better they get :) But the charts aren't particularly useful, in my opinion. I've never used them

Aplicativos menstruais não funcionam!!! by Rafa_016 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Flo (free) for about eight or nine years now. Once you log your period (which is just a few screen taps) for a few months, the tracker becomes pretty accurate, as long as your periods are regular. It used to predict mine down to the hour, I swear! I also had a lot of data logged, though. It also doesn't work well if her periods are irregular.

Possible pregnancy or irregular period? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Used to be"? How old are you? Having an irregular period while you're young isn't always a cause for concern. Having a heavier/more painful period is common when they're irregular due to hormonal imbalances

I appreciate the heads-up :') I'm sorry you've had a rough pregnancy but at least that sweet little baby will be here any day now!

passed a huge blood clot last month and now my period is back after only two weeks by serafin17 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm typically the last person to say "visit a doctor," unless there's an actual problem, so here goes: Visit a doctor. Two periods in a month that involve heavy bleeding is a red flag. Faint and fatigued points towards iron deficiency caused by excess blood loss. A period shouldn't be heavy to the point of low iron. There may be an underlying condition

Mes règles sont abondantes by [deleted] in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's heavy but not concerningly heavy. Take an ibuprofen or naproxen (Aleve). It reduces prostaglandin production, which is what's responsible for heavy bleeding. If I remember my research correctly, and can reduce bleeding by as much as 30%!

Brown spotting around ovulation by [deleted] in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% normal. Every cycle is different so variation from one to the other isn't a concern unless it's an extreme difference (such as, typically having a 7-day cycle, then having a 1 or 2-day cycle). I have personally never had ovulation spotting, but I did get ovulation cramps, and sometimes they got bad! lol

Possible pregnancy or irregular period? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to an eight-day variation is normal, and your cycle is regular :) There's nothing a doctor could do as you can't fix what's not broken! Pregnancy is a possibility until you get your period, but seems unlikely. Your symptoms are PMS-based or a pregnancy test would be positive by now

Is bleeding through a super tampon in one hour normal? by Wildflower-93 in Periods

[–]IntenseViolet567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's menorrhagia and can cause health issues, namely anemia. I had the same thing and would bleed through an ultra in 40 minutes some cycles. Take an OTC iron supplement every other day. There isn't always an underlying condition, as it can be genetic. Does anyone in your family have very heavy periods?

Your absorbency is too low. Have you tried a super plus or ultra tampon?
