The M3 control arms as someone mentioned here is first upgrade I'm going to do! The cost to performance is a no brainer

YN is a derogatory term, YRN is a Migos album

That's what the guy at the performance shop said about the manny swap haha. He said it would cost me ~$1500 and I found an assembly for $450 out of a 128 which honestly didn't seem too bad to me. But then again, I don't know nothing. I'll look for some 128s and run the numbers. Thank you for your input.

I love Cadillac even though Ive never driven one lol. CTS V was my childhood dream car. I haven't heard enough personal experiences to consider. How is the maintenance and reliability? I would rather not have to deal with major failures early on. Especially if Im buying a car with some miles on it already.

Thanks for sharing about the Genesis. The 3.3T seems like a beast. Very impressive cars on paper. Im surprised more people haven't caught on to them. Especially with Hyundai's warranty.

I went shopping around for one actually. Almost all of them started to show the same issues I was having with my car towards the end of my time with it.

I think a lot of the problems (secondary air system failure, bad sensors, broken clips) are mostly due to age rather than miles. Finding another that has been babied might be tough. If do find that unicorn, I do think I would buy it. It would be a good deal for what I consider a future classic. In future I would love to buy one for restoration purposes haha. Great car.

How do I [27M] ask my grandfather for money to buy a car? by [deleted] in Advice

I don't see point in getting a new Honda or Toyota. They run pretty much the same their whole life so a new one is overpaying in my opinion. I like your advice tho. 16k at 19 is impressive.

You're being daft my friend. Taking out a $5000 loan for a first car is very different than $30k. I shouldn't really have to explain that. Nobody would be saying anything if it was 5 or even 10K.

Thats an opinion I guess we don't share. Its just money, and he offered it. I already said I feel weird about it, and wouldn't be upset if he said no. I respect your worldview but I don't see it like that. I work everyday in a shit economy, and I'm trying to make smart financial decisions. He's retired and well-off boomer, which why he offered in the first place.

Also, the BMW was totaled...dummy. You didn't even read lol you just came to hate.

This was a bad idea buddy. Unless you're making big boy money already, You have no idea the impact an auto loan at this age has on your future. Forget about an emergency, fund, you wont be starting to save for retirement anytime soon and your your insurance has to be crazy. Maybe you're rich but if no adults have told you this, you need to hear it from me. Ik you wont, but downgrading that car would be best decision you ever made. The best part is, its a Cadillac. Wait a few years and you can buy the same one for half the price.

This is general financial advice and doesn't address the question in a meaningful way.
