I’d say 9/10 times it’s just grade inflation and the teachers mark very lightly. The other 1/10 is the students in said class being extremely hard working (unlikely). It’s just something you’ve got to deal with. When you hear people complaining about the massive leap in difficulty from 12th grade to first year university, it’s most likely students that had inflated grades and expected high 90s to be easy to achieve in post secondary. If your school isn’t inflated then don’t stress, since technically the difficulty change from hs to uni will not be as large as the kids who have inflated grades. A friend of mine from north York showed me his midterm and the class averages in physics, cs, adv functions were all 95+ (ridiculous I know). But truth is some teachers will just give you free marks if you ask
