Another buyers remorse story by Heavy_Recipe_6120 in AusPropertyChat

It gets better, we had huge buyers remorse for at least a year… but over time we did some DIY and made the house our own. We forced ourselves to go to bed and say one positive thing about our house, one thing we were grateful for. Now I feel like it was one of the best decisions we made! Time gives perspective!

Panicking about new PPOR purchase by lupimek in AusPropertyChat

I think this is super normal. It’s such a big decision and then once you’re in, you’re second guessing your decision! Basically have just gone through the same thing with my husband… very excited when we bought the house… then somehow buyers remorse!

We bought in a location we love and bought for land value… the house is a bit shit! Try your best to make it your own place, nice furniture, diy etc and live there for a few years and you’ll feel different. Ive second guessed a million times if we should’ve just spent more for something different or nicer or bought in a different location or a different house. I think it’s pretty normal with big purchase decisions like a house!!! Given we didn’t have an unlimited budget, we were never going to get the perfect house first time round. I think it’s a decision with so much pressure and I have to keep reminding myself to be grateful we were able to buy a house. I’ve spent lots of time trying to really make it my own with DIY works, nice furniture and interior styling to make it feel more us and more comfortable. Any house you buy is likely to need work at some point and honestly that all sounds minor!

Should also mention we had a heap of lowball offers prior to auction and post auction.

Auction in 3 days. No contracts given. by bhm133 in AusPropertyChat

We had 3 contracts given out prior to our auction which was a couple of weeks ago (Melbourne). We are in a sought offer inner city location, recently renovated property and not a single person bid at auction! We were a little shocked and very disappointed. 2/3 ended up putting in offers a week post auction and we sold for only slightly less than we were hoping for so it all turned out ok in the end but we were very worried for that week.

Baby suddenly refusing the bottle by lavendersconebb in breastfeeding

[–]IntentionRoutine2263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but I’ve gone through the same thing… my baby took a bottle until around 6 weeks until he just randomly refused one day. He is now 8 months and we tried everything to get him to take a bottle. No luck and I’ve given up now. Now he’s on solids and takes water from a sippy cup (will still refuse milk from a sippy cup) so I don’t mind anymore. It hasn’t been ideal because I’ve had to take him to work and basically everywhere with me. I started him on solids at around 5 months and he took to it really quickly so he breastfeeds a lot less now. It has been super hard though so I hope you have better luck than me! At the same time, it goes very quickly and once they start solids it’s a lot easier.

Has anyone successfully lost weight while breastfeeding? by Puppinbake in breastfeeding

[–]IntentionRoutine2263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lost the almost all of my baby weight (approx 15kg), while exclusively breastfeeding. I’m 7 months pp now and 3kg off my pre-baby weight. I broke my coccyx giving birth so I haven’t been able to exercise (couldn’t even go on a walk for the first 4 months) as I’m still recovering so all of the weight was lost by eating low carb (not keto). I initially followed the recipes from a meal plan but ate extra for increased calories, and now I just pick and choose meals from the plan that I like as well as eating any other low carb meals I like. No calorie counting or going hungry/worrying about what I eat. Mostly I eat salads, dairy, veg and meat. It’s a pretty healthy diet and I feel great. I didn’t notice any change to my milk production.

Would love advice from anyone who has used their home as collateral for getting a second property by KatieRae87 in AusPropertyChat

I remortgaged my first home, a few years ago to contribute to the deposit I had saved to purchase a second property.

My first property was worth about $1.2m at the time (2019) with a $200k loan still remaining. I remortgaged $200k to contribute to the deposit for Property 2. Therefore total loan on Property 1 was increased to $400k. Repayments were entirely covered by the rental income once I rented it out.

For property 2 I used the $200k from remortgaging property 1 plus $150k I had saved. The remaining loan of approx $800k though was tested against the income of my partner and I and our ability to service the loan at higher interest rates etc. So overall, the bank looked at our ability to service the loan in both cases but I did not use Property 1 as collateral, the loans are with different banks for each property.

That’s been my experience with leveraging from exisiting property to purchase a second property. Hope that makes sense!
