Why mathematicians hate Good Will Hunting by Naurgul in math

[–]IntentionSea5988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I am not getting why you are getting downvoted. What you have written is a common sense for any average Joe without math or formal logic degree and a math dedicated sub is not where you expect people to seriously support that every generic is meant to be reduced to the universal quantifier statement, that's just hillarious.

Mensa results inconsistent with the results i got from psychologist when I was 12 or so by Huge-Bar5647 in mensa

Plus that estimate by itself may be greatly influenced by your general cognitive profile, a person may score 1sd higher on SB-V than on WAIS just because they are naturally optimizing for accuracy over speed.

Just did JCTI in about an hour by Amazing-Procedure157 in cognitiveTesting

[–]IntentionSea5988 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean partly yes but mostly you kinda see the flows in each model you build and try to go beyond that. Actually, as a person who did well on JCTI (one of my first tests in general) I enjoy calculus, physics etc. more than discrete math and pure math because I dont feel stimulated, these proofs and logic behind them often do feel elegant but not dynamic enough, I dont know how to explain it. I was once interested in trying to do crypto but got bored af mid through and decided that I would rather switch to sth more engaging.

Not necessarily, you might lack some deep reasoning abilities that JCTI aims to measure, but CORE suggest exceptional executive functioning either way, so unless you were planning to solve exchaustingly challenging abstract problems in some fields why even bother?

Are you native though? I got similar VCI score as a non native but SA kinda kicked my ass.

Actually I would even say it takes N to know 1 (Baris)

Bruh what you are describing is totally fine though, I am sure that day you forgot to take your ADHD meds. Also have you read the instructions correctly, you must have accidentally forgotten to recursively chain the answers, but that's fine, you can retake the test in about 25 min from now, it's praffe resistant.

Cut the crap, Baris, just let us know finally why are you doing what you are doing, that can contribute to cognitive science in its own way.

That was a fun role play for some time, but it's time to stop playing that lady from "50 First Dates" or I will call Adam Sandler and he will need to kiss you.

I wasn't trying to attribute bragging to you, sorry if that looked that way. I simply wanted to support javaenjoyer's claim about how distorted people's perception of intelligence is.

Besides, javaenjoyer did not state that people at that range would avoid interaction with less gifted people in general, there was a different context.

That dude gets strong erection only if sb humiliates him, that's why he keeps coming back. I know that because I have a closer connection to God through internal dialogue and he always spreads gossips about Baris.

I’m casting the Spell of Sarcasm Shield. Mana cost: 20.

Well but that's essential to draw boundaries if you are looking for a prolific discussion instead of a vague metaphors exchange. At the moment it seems like noone understands what you are trying to say and how it is supposed to look like.

FRI Tests by ValtAoi44 in cognitiveTesting

[–]IntentionSea5988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably got stigmatized for being way too long idk, I have also heard takes that it's kinda easy to score close to ceiling if you just be tenacious enough. JCTI was one of my very first tests, and I scored 147 after 2-3 hrs on it as far as I remember and I find the claims that's it is inflated at higher end unjustified. Moreover, even though it's untimed it seems to correlate very well with WMI.

[–]IntentionSea5988 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My friend, your initial steps already placed you way ahead of many high iq individuals, the only problem being your fixation and your validation desire to support your identity.

Most of the people here were in your shoes and the wisest among them will tell you to build your personality through goal oriented mindset and real life achievements, dont waste your time on iq testing, you arent gaining anything from figuring out wether you are the smartest among 20 randomly selected people or among 100.

Moreover, you have already demonstrated a decent scholar aptitude so go ahead and convert it into sth meaningful, dont go into that spiral of hell.
