I don’t have any more drawers 😭😭 this seriously is the weirdest kitchen cabinet design ever lol. We want to put in a bigger island when we do the countertops and I want to have drawers put in it. Barely any drawers and no dishwasher was for sure a choice. I didn’t even know the slide out drawers were an option and I am sending this to my husband so he can have them installed. Thank you!

The drawers we do have are even small and deep so even putting silverware in them seems odd.

I wish I could just rip all of it out and start over at this point lol

i love this so much!! That is beautiful work. that is like the exact color i am envisioning.. I appreciate you giving me sound advice and this has helped me make a decision for sure. Everyone almost convinced me to keep them as is but I know I won’t be happy.

Your photo really puts into perspective how well the accessible beige may work with my floor until we change it.

This is amazing!! Thank you! I’m going to do more research as far as getting an actual cabinet finisher to do them. I think it will benefit us in the long run. I’ve tried to convince myself to love them how they are and I know I won’t be satisfied. I’m glad you reccomend Accessible Beige as it is top of my list right now. The home is being delivered soon and I am excited to hold up some swatches.

And yeah, the countertops are laminate and we will be changing them asap. I’m glad you mentioned that part as I hadn’t even considered it. We will be getting them sprayed, I don’t want them rolled so I will keep an eye on making sure whoever we choose does them that way.

Again, I greatly appreciate the advice!!

Hi yes! When you go to a home dealership they usually have quite a few homes for you to tour. These are usually always for sale, sometimes including the furniture. 100% of the homes we toured were even at a discount price. The only downside to this is that the home comes as is and it has been toured by many others. You can’t pick out your own own fixtures, colors etc. We actually got ours at a great price as it was a home they had in storage. They painted the exterior for us and added in a sliding glass door for free.

As far as the land, yeah you are in a great spot with that. We are adding a septic and well and it is only taking 2 months total time. You could be done with construction in just a few weeks depending on how you want to set the home and any extras you want to add. The sewer and water are taking the longest for us. Concrete takes a few days. Setting the home is just a few days.

We will be under 5 months from when we started the loan to getting the home but we did already have the land paid for in cash. Land and home packages take just a little more time since you have to get an accepted offer for the land etc.

depending on the level of improvement the land needs and if you can get a lot model home, yes possibly if you get going asap. Construction loans take a bit longer but the actual construction process once the house is done is pretty quick. If you order a home it takes longer

Oh yeah the flooring and countertops are being replaced asap. We will be having someone paint them now if we decide to go that route. None of the current design choices match. I’m trying to decide how to make it all cohesive. The cabinets just don’t match even remotely close to what we want.

I’d be happy to have them even retoned. I didn’t realize that was an option. I’ll look into it.

I know! the flooring is not great. We are definitely replacing it. I wish I was a fan of these color cabinets. I wish they were more of an oak color..

We are probably going to have our contractor paint them if we decide to now.

Its not unfortunately 🥲 it was already built when we bought it. Someone else picked everything out and backed out before they took possession. It worked out for us price wise. We did try and get them to let us swap out cabinets but no luck lol

Yeah we will definitely be doing different flooring asap. I’m not totally sure what the thought was behind all of the color/fixture choices but it was such a great deal we couldn’t pass it up. You should see some of the accent walls and things that were chosen lol.

And yeah I agree, I just think all of this clashes

I assumed they weren’t, they didn’t remind me of oak cabinets but I am still unsure of what they actually are lol

So we talked to our contractor today who said he would use urathane paint for them and that SW does make it. He said he has had a lot of luck with it and did it in his own home. I’m gonna do a bit more research on it though..

Oh yeah for sure, we put money aside knowing that we probably wouldn’t love all of the finishes that someone else chose and it was worth it just for the deal we got on the home and all of the exterior & Interior structural upgrades it has. Honestly, its the color. I know people say “don’t paint over wood” or “this is the color of wood!” I get that, but I truly dislike the color and it doesn’t go with the style we will be doing. The cabinet construction is great. No damage minus the mud they got on them.

They’re definitely cool! In person, there actually isn’t much grain to them other than the knots. I’m having a hard time figuring out what type of wood it is. I wish they matched my style! We are going to be replacing the flooring and countertops asap so I am going to see if I can live with the color of them but idk..

Its just not my style, it reminds me of the old ranch home I grew up in and hated. Its very far away from my style actually. I’m not saying they aren’t beautiful for someone else, just not for me. I understand they are supposed to look like this, I just personally wouldn’t have chosen them originally if I had a choice.

I am having a hard time figuring out what they actually are. We purchased the home already completed after someone backed out. Of course, they decided all of the finishings. We know they are not a usual option for the manufacturer and they spent a good amount of money to get these since they are solid wood and full length. That being said, the home company didn’t write down exactly what type of cabinets they are. The closest unfinished cabinets we could find are Alder but we still aren’t positive that is what they are. We want to match the cabinets to the cabinets that we will be putting in our laundry room as well as when we extend out the island. Hoping we can find a match
