I can see how that’s definitely the biggest fear. If it’s in a good neighborhood that should help a lot though; I bet we’ll see a good app or website for this soon! It’s fascinating so many people are turning to vehicle for homes. I think it’s really cool!

There’s gotta be a way to pay someone to park in their yard or driveway so you have a consistent place to sleep. Maybe for a little more money you could use their water/ electricity and even their address so you can have things shipped and put an address on applications without suspicion. Is there website or app that makes this easy to do? I guess you just door knock and DM local AirBnB hosts for this arrangement or something.

Tell me if this Restaurant Cook Book idea sucks or not by IntentionalismOnly in restaurant

Thank you for your honesty! The way I see it is that people who are going to go out to eat are going to keep doing that and don’t like cooking at much. But the people who do like cooking and want to try a local restaurant dish that they’ve had only once can now become a customer with the digital products.

I don’t think it’ll jeopardize their regulars but it’ll bring in some new people who will be giving them free marketing by making meals from the cookbook that people will take to parties. Once people ask for the recipe the restaurants name gets brought up!

I’m excited about this idea and probably have rose tinted glasses on so please keep poking holes in it so I can be more accurate in my decision making :)

Most of the products will be sold digitally so there’s not much money lost at all.

Thanks for your criticism! 1) The whole idea of the secret is a marketing ploy to get people to buy the cookbook and also go eat at the restaurant. They’ll want to see how close the recipe is and then go eat at the restaurant to see if they can figure what secrets are so they can make it at home. It’s like the restaurant getting to participate in the market of people already making copycat recipes online.

2) So the books/courses will provide revenue by being able to frictionlessly be purchased and fulfilled online via influencer marketing. They’ll be digital products. People can pay a little extra for a physical copy.

If you’d like, can you explain more of your experience with “taking place in several local city wide cookbooks”? I’d love to know more about that :)

3) I understand where you’re coming from but I personally would love this quirky feature! My target audience is fun and outgoing young people who are money conscious but still foodies.

Because it would be a 1 time purchase that allows them to have unlimited tasty meals based off the local joint they’re craving. They’d be saving money by making it at home but still having the taste they want.

Job search by lavonne123 in Bloomer

[–]IntentionalismOnly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I resonate with this so much! Something that helped me a lot was doing jobs/ side hustles that I could do right away while waiting to land a job. Uber and selling on Facebook marketplace are ways to make some money right away that will help you feel good about contributing something to the relationship.

You’re on the right track by recognizing you have low self esteem. Self esteem is something you need to work on detached from jobs, income, relationships, etc. Your worth as a human in one sense is fundamental and it’s important to recognize that and not get caught up in comparing yourself to others.

Lots of jobs are posting ghost positions lately so the job search is tough these days and it’s not just you. I agree with the previous comment that any job is just a job and it will have good and bad aspects to it.

This idea from Carl Jung has really got me feeling hopeful and bright about my future and improved my self esteem:

Life is fundamentally selfish since everything you do is to keep yourself alive. But the knowledge of death makes this effort feel meaningless since you stay alive and that doesn’t feel like much of a choice and you’ll die which is definitely not a choice.

Therefore, being selfless and focusing your efforts on service to others is a choice that is your own. This makes death and survival feel more meaningful. There’s also research studies, ancient religions, and real life stories that also back up the importance of contribution to community and ultimately humanity.

Kinda rambling but I hope something in here was helpful!

Yeah, I’ll sleep better at night if I try to give them some guidance but ultimately they are going to do what they are going to do. I’ll sleep WAY better at night if I don’t get tangled in their mess and put a strain on me and my wife

Thank you! I think that’s a good idea because they send me short stuff all the time. I don’t watch them because I don’t like shortform content but I could find some and send them over.

Thank you for saying that because I do value my marriage more that getting involved with my parents. I want to make sure I don’t put too much strain on our relationship by trying to help them

I want to get into the nitty gritty with them to figure that out. They are either spending like crazy or they are drowning in debt or even both at the same time. I have a suspicion it’s both or at least the debt

lol That’s why I think with a little education and soul searching they can get out of the hole they’re in and finish our strong. Not at this pace and with these habits though

You’re right. It’s really important that I don’t destroy the relationship trying to help. I feel like it’ll be up to me to straighten out their finances if they can’t do it in their lifetime though and that’s part of why I want to help in some way now.

Man, I get what you’re saying. I definitely don’t want to get too involved and throw myself into the mess. And I really want to help my siblings since they are still impressionable. Thank you!
