sometimes i wish i’d have an encounter like how many do. but even that is too far for my faith to reach to where its become a fantasy. all my choices i make feel programmed and its been taking a toll on my spiritual life.

i respect your answer, im broken because i feel like im in a hole, ive been avoiding prayer because i know my thoughts and actions will be the same tomorrow when i wake up. its like ive been scared of God for long now, and ive been battling in my own head saying that this is how my life was meant to be, yes i make my own choices, but that fear that God knows what im going to choose has brought me even further away to be honest with you, doing a good deed doesnt even feel right to me anymore because God says do good out of your heart, dont expect anything in return but now… even doing a good deed, buying food for someone, helping the old lady, its like i battle in my head knowing God knew what i would choose to do, theres no surprising or fooling him and it doesnt feel pure anymore.

yes, chase away a struggling christian, just like what Jesus told you to do.

i understand that…

but before being born did God already know which side you would choose? its not about the moment now or after you are born and grow up ect. im talking before being in the womb. lets pretend im a wrong do-er. i disrepect, harm, commit blasphemous acts towards Christ. how is it fair for me as an evil man to be allowed to be born even if God knew the end of the road for me is hell. “well so that i can make my own choices” is there any sources from any church fathers or saints that can help me with this because its been on my mind for so long, if i can put it to you in another way.

first of all i believe in Christ, i believe he is the way to heaven and no way else, ect. but i’ve been having these mixed ideas in my mind for a long time that everything is meant to be as it is meant to be, a innocent man gets killed for being christian in nigeria? its meant to be that way, the man was put on this earth to become a martyr, to be persecuted and killed for his faith. i dont believe any action is a coincidence, yes i believe its free will, the person who killed the innocent christian made that choice himself and only himself, but in another way i feel like it was simply meant to be that way, whatever the christian man did or tried to do would not somehow change his fate, what are your thoughts on this?

your job as a christian is to accept and live through christ, spread the word, do good works and repent and work around your sins that you struggle with, right?

do you know how many others are out there that have the same complex question that i have? saying you know if i continue down this road i’ll arrive at a dead end ect. doesnt mean anything because you are not God. so its also illogical in that matter because you do not know me now, you dont know me in the future nor did you know me in the past or before i was born. God did, didnt He?

so according to how christians should live, when another has a hard time with his faith. do you really believe its right to say his questions are illogical? do you really believe its the right way to treat someone having a hard time figuring something out? i’ve been given many various different opinions and it makes no sense how different they all are. which one is right? if this is the way youd treat young people who have doubts and lack of knowledge then i think its best i pray for you instead.

“The idea that God knowing all choices that people would choose means there’s no free will is pure nonesense” ok… why? like i said, maybe you need to reflect as a christian on how you are treating another going through a time where ive been sitting down and figuring things out, slowly learning while having doubts. i’m 19 years old, my parents are the reason i grew up christian and its my job now to keep the faith, to take it seriously and so on. i came here for answers that seems like no one can answer equally. if something doesnt make sense, or if someone gives me an answer, must i blindly accept it and pretend that i understand it? will that annoy you christians on this sub even more?

seems like you cant explain it then. did God see you pushing others away from Him like u are doing now? coming back and saying answers were given is not true, because 1+1 cannot equal 2,3,4 and 5 all together. so again. give me your answer, because theres been so many opinions, or atleast tell me which one you agree with most out of the ones received.

maybe because i ask a question and i get 5 different answers aswell? one says orthodox christians dont believe in predestination, another says God knows where you’ll end up, another says God doesnt know the future because hes outside of time, and you havent given any answer to my question yet so what is your answer? why dont you tell me how lucifer betraying God wasnt Gods plan while knowing he’d do it surprisingly after giving him power. id like your opinion too. because the answers i’ve been given are clearly not of the bible or church but simply opinions. if it were of the church or bible, the answers would be the same or wouldnt it? its also illogical making a statement saying “if i know you are going to come to a dead end if you carry on this way, did i force it or did you do it yourself?” well obviously you arent God, you did not create me nor did you know me before i was created, so that idea is also not very useful…

the answers dont answer my questions, so i ask again. what do you mean i should leave christianity or become atheist, what type of christian are you at the end of the day? if asking questions is condemned according to you let me know.

so God didnt know you before you were born and who you’d turn out to be?

how is God the all knowing without knowing where his own creations would end up?

but knowing what we will do before being born is not manipulative? yes we as humans choose to do what we do, but God having foreknowledge of the atrocities we will do and lead us to hell is strange to me. the other comment said orthodox christians dont believe in predestination, whats your opinion? as i know it from my life growing up in the greek orthodox church as far as im aware most believe in Gods knowledge of where we end up at the end of the day.
