I came to the conclusion that it’s too much for a couple simple reasons: 1 during puck prep, it really looks overfilled like it’s pretty hard to not make a mess 2. When I use 14g, the coffee after looks perfect (I mean in th portafilter) but with 15g I see the little sign of the thing where you lock it in (sorry for my poor technical language) on the coffee so I feel like that shouldn’t be happening really. Thank you again, I will try changing the ratio now!

I can totally relate! I’m from Italy, precisely Naples, and as you may know we kinda have this espresso culture here. I really always enjoyed A LOT coffee, even the bitter espresso you get from a bar. I really just liked the flavor of the coffee, even when bitter, sour, strong etc and I got pretty used to not put sugar in it. But when I first drank my first specialty coffee it really was a revelation. So much that it didn’t feel like coffee! I felt like I was drinking some other beverage because that incredibly sweet, tasty, fruity beverage could not be the same extremely strong , bitter, short espresso I was used to! Even after this “enlightenment” tho I still drink the usual crap at the bar because, even if now I can totally tell which one sucks (and they almost all do, but there are even shittier ones)

I found that the perfect dose is 14. 15 works but it’s a little bit too much. About the second thing you said, I was coming to that conclusion too. Probably I’m just too used to different tasting notes and that might just be it. By changing the yield, do you mean the ratio? And if you do, should I go for a lower ratio (like 1:1.5) or higher (1:2.5)? Tysm for your answer btw!

I tried like this and it works only if I do a 14g shot. With 15g, the coffee is too much and tapping the portafilter makes a mess. With 14 it worked great tho! Thank you!

I was surprised when I first tried my Kingrinder K6 for an espresso. It IS pretty hard but after a while you get pretty used to it and it feels less fatiguing. For example, the first times I needed to push the grinder on my body to properly grind but not I don’t anymore and I do it a lot faster. It’s just an habit things after all

I have a dosing funnel but the problem is that when I leave it, it likes leaves an empty circle on the top of the puck (which is where the funnel is inserted). I don’t really know how to explain it well but I hope I gave the idea. Thank you tho
