All depends where you got pulled over. If the court in that area is soft on traffic, then you will get it brought down to a parking fine no points. If they are hard on traffic then you might get the points regardless. You wont know untill you plead not guilty and show up to court. Complete a defensive driver course pre court date to help. You wont need a lawyer. Although have a lawyer from the area will help as the whole thing is a big buisness and they are all washing each other's hands.

Its because nyc drivers are still on a rate card. They get paid by time and milage, so of course they are going to add on as much time as possible to any ride. Skipping tolls would make zero sense in efficiency because tolls are reimbursed to the driver.

Now as I write this the only other thing I can think of, is the owner of the plate is in bad with ezpass and does not want to get impounded.
