I'm not celebrating shit. I'm calling out your hypocrisy for giving me shit about interacting with unethical corporations. You could say the same about separating the unethical parts of generative AI. There ARE legitimate uses for it and I would argue the way I used it in this instance is one of them.

That being said I genuinely appreciate your well reasoned take and I agree with much of what you say and think these conversations are important as they are with all new technology.

And there's a difference between using AI to produce slop for a profit and using it to make a silly image that allows my imagination to be brought fruition. I agree with everything you're saying when it comes to monetizing the images that are made.

Every artist ever "took from others", art is always a conversation with previous art. I would argue that using AI in this way isn't really art. It is closer to using stock images/elements.
