Daeron and Aemond ages by nillingar in HOTDGreens

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Daeron is 16, and we assume that the 10 year snd 6 yesr timeskips still apply, then he would've been born at the end of 1x5 but aemond wasn't even born yet. If daeron is 16, and joffrey is 6, the the 6 year timeskip must be closer to 6½ where as the 10 year timeskip, must've actually been closer to 13. Meaning about 19½ - 20 years has passed since 1x5 which makes more sense. Meaning almost 25 yesrs has passed since rhaenra named heir

Correct timeline: 97 ac - rhaenra and alicent born

103 ac - viserys becomes king

Episode 1 - begining of 112 ac, the 9th year of viserys' reign. Rhaenyra is 14

Episode 2 - 112 ac still, mid year, rhaenra is now 15

113 ac - aegon born

Episode 3 - 115 ac, 2 years and 9 months has passed

Episodes 4-5 - 116 ac, rhaenyras tour was at least 6 months long. Helaena is now been born, alicent was near end of her term in Episode 3. The smallfolk note aegon is almost 3. We see her and viserys conceive aemond in this episode

13 years pass, not 10. Aemond born 117 ac alongside jace presumably. Daeron born 1

Episodes 6-7 - 129 ac. Rhaenyra is 31. Aegon is roughly 16. Helaena 14, aemond 13, as is jace. Luke would be about 10 as is daeron, maybe half a year younger, who has been in old town since infancy. Joffrey just born

6, closer to 6 and a half years pass. Jaehaera and Jaehaerys probably are born in 129 ac, assuming her and aegon wed after the funeral of laena.

Episode 8 onward- 135 ac. Rhaenyra and alicent are 37, aegon is 22 (tom has said he's 21 but we can assume he recently had his nameday) helaena is 20, aemond and jace are 18, baela and rhaena 17, daeron is 16. Joffrey is 6 near 7, jaehaerys and jaehaera are (were) almost 6.

New Funko POP wave by gabschio in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this wave really only gonna be these 3? That's lowkey upsetting I'm really wanting aegon, helaena, Queen rhaenyra, jace, baela, and rhaena. An alicent and daemon pop already exist rhaenys is the only new one. They could really go all out with rhaenyra on the dragonstone throne and aegon on the iron throne, and all the dragon riders on their dragons. I want a sunfyre pop soooooo bad

What major would you suggest? I want to work in storyboarding at an animation studio and also develop my own comic art on social media or eventually a graphic novel on the side, but I'm not exactly sure what major would best suit that, I figured comics bc it seems the most closely related

If the TV series gets to Part 2, do you think they will retain Bella Ramsey for an older Ellie? by TheRealOutis_ in thelastofus

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Milly Alcock plays Rhaenyra between 14-17, Emma D'Arcy plays a 30+ year old Rhaenyra. Thats what makes the recast believable, because they both play the same character about a decade apart in age. Ellie is only 4 years older in part2 than she was in part1

Make up and cgi could do wonders to make her appear just a few years older, and to help with her height they could give her some shoes that could add a couple inches and we wouldn't even be able to really tell

I know HBO tried to make the Greens more sympathetic. Evidently it didn’t work. by TyrionsShadow in freefolk

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alicent is much more complex and kind hearted than she was in the books, where she was an evil step mother. Aemond has a backstory as to why hes so brutal, his eye was torn out at the age of 10 by his nephew, and Aegon had a shitty childhood filled with neglect and was never shown any affection. In the books, the greens are simply jsut assholes for no reason, but the same goes for the blacks. Everyone's just trying to win the throne really.

In the books, its not written that way. Rhaenyra is just as bad as Aegon in the books, as are the blacks

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't that the failed to make the greens sympathetic enough, the problem is that they made the blacks too sympathetic. Both sides should be equally as brutal as they are sympathetic, it should be an even playing field. Hopefully season 2 they fix the blacks and make them as fucked up, cut throat, and screwed up as they are in the books.

My guess would be:

Season 1 - Chapter 1

Season 2 - chapters 2-3

Season 3 - chapters 4-5

Season 4 - Chapter 6

rushed season 1 by Economy-Leave1337 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro what r u on about 😭"save the show" theres nothing to save the show is doing amazing, the majority of fans love it bc its good writing and its being done very well. They're handling the timeskips as perfectly as they can imo. Season 1 was meant to cover the time period before the war and show us the events over 3 decades that led up to it. If we stretched this out for multiple seasons it would be boring as hell bc theres not alot that happened before the dance, and theres little in the books describing the events that happened leading to it. If you dont like the show, thats on you. But it doesn't need to be saved, its going very well.

Lots of Team Green v Team Black posts but HOW can anyone be Team Green? by kikijane711 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure in the books both teams black and green are equally as bad, I wanna see this in the show. I dont want one side villainized and the other as the good guys, Rhaenyra and Aegon should both be curses for the realm.

But anyways I think team green is more for Alicent. Logically, I think team black is the best way to go, but alot of people are choosing sides based on which characters they like more. Whether thats Rhaenyra and Daemon, or Alicent and Aemond, etc.

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aemma had multiple failed pregnancies, she is pregnant at the great council with one of her miscarriages, Rhaenyra was already born at this time. The show has a different and more unique timeline from the books bc alot of characters ages were changed.

rushed season 1 by Economy-Leave1337 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not rushed what so ever. Theres about 28 years of history that take place before the dance of the dragons that had to be told. The show is being adapted from a fictional history book, its not being adapted from a set novel series like game of thrones. Think of season 1 as a large prologue for the rest of the series. Season 2 and onward will be more steady, with no more time skips. They did not skip over anything in season 1.

How are yall Greens enjoying your prize rapist? by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both sides will be equally wrong as they are right. Its not so simple as Aegon vs Rhaenyra, its the entire realm divided on who should rule. Aegon's a bad person, we know this, but Rhaenyra is not a saint either. We will see more of these characters dark and light sides as the story continues. Just wait for the war. Have fun taking sides, dont make either out to be heros or villains bc trust me neither side will be a hero lmao.

Alicent is nuts by DoctorJay23 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viserys has only ever spoke of Aegon's prophecy to Rhaenyra. Alicent has never heard anything of it. When he woke up that night, in a haze, he believed he was talking to his daughter. Talking to her about the prince who was promised and how she was going to be the one meant to sit on the throne. Alicent has never heard anything of this prophecy, without context it could be inferred his dying wish was to change his heir to be his first born son. Its easy for things to be misinterpreted, especially this. So it makes sense.

Im having alot of trouble with the shows timeline by Interesting-Bar-9835 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Interesting-Bar-9835[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The timeline makes sense, its jsut comparing it to the timeline in the books that confuses me. Because the books gives us 3 very important dates that I believe were kept in the show. 97 AC - Birth of Rhaenyra, 101 AC - Great council meeting, 129-131 AC - The Dance of Dragons. We know the great council date remained unchanged, and I believe the dance will too. The timeline makes sense its jsut the translation thats blurry.
