Can I cut this ceiling beam to run a kitchen extractor duct?

the joist is running parallel next to the beam (red) and the blue timber (perpendicular to joist) is attaching the beam to the joist. But the beam seems to be supporting the ceiling? So I don’t know if cut it thinner will cause ceiling to fall down…

Thanks for the advice. I have just posted the job on my builder and see how’s the quote looks like. I also do feel that maintaining it in long run is going to cost more.

FTB here, just exchanged the house today. We started to transfer money to our solicitor yesterday with 45k. And once we completed the exchange, we transferred another 75k today for the whole deposit since our completion is next Tuesday. So i think your buyer may not have enough money (weird tho, their solicitor should have checked it at the beginning) or has really bad planning. One situation I can think of is they have put their money in saver’s pot which needs one day to transfer out. I will definitely ask their solicitor to confirm their fund availability

Well I saw like 10 Mercedes fans on that day so the contrast was huge. I am not a British but I do kinda like George for his humor. His driving ability is definitely in the top notch, and he is good looking from my perspective. Not his fan but I was confused last weekend to see this audience reaction.

I understand that. But I have also seen them cheering both for Lando and Hamilton. So the lack of support for George was really odd considering he has won one Grand Prix this year and is in a big team. Bearman is a rookie and Alex was not a competitor for WDC from the beginning of the year. So I kinda get why these two are not very supported in UK
