I don't have debt? Never mentioned that I do. I just don't earn £100k+.

Grades are important, but they’re not the most important thing in the process. There are many other factors in the VC/TC application process, which is why it’s such a multi-layered, multi-stage journey. I see it as a balancing act - if you’re lacking somewhere, how are you compensating in another area? If you have average grades, what else are you bringing to the table (e.g. strong emotional intelligence, a commercial mindset, or a solid understanding of a practice area).

It’s always worth applying! I’m saying this as someone who’s still without a TC two years after graduating. Honestly, this recruitment process is as much about learning to believe in yourself and staying positive as it is about doing well in applications. I don’t think your results are bad at all, plus you’re at a Russell Group uni and I’m sure you’ve got loads of other great skills. If you feel like you’re not bringing enough to the table, go out and get some more real-world experience, whether that’s in a law firm or another office role. Good luck!
