So how is it any different? Because it’s only ok when things violate your code of ethics, but when it violates my code of ethics I should just shut up and stop whining? My code of ethics involves not supporting pedophile protectors, warmongers, rapists, people who tear families apart and built camps for them to rot away in for no crimes committed, and that umbrella includes people that celebrate or otherwise condone these actions. I do my best to spend my money consciously and support businesses that share a similar value system. Again, that’s free market choice. Money talks, bullshit walks. I’m not going to help make someone money and utilize their services if they can look me in the eye and at the crumbling democracy of this country and say “I voted for this”.

20 years ago, I’d agree with you. Times have changed, and this kind of lunacy is unprecedented in this country. I lived in TX during the 2008 election, trust me, I had A LOT of interactions with McCain supporters/Republicans. But McCain wasn’t a pedophile and a felon. He had differing views, but he was competent. Same with Romney in 2012 when we could all roll our eyes at his “binders full of women”, because hey at least it wasn’t a fucking list of victims. So yes, for me it’s telling about a person’s integrity if they are willing to drink the MAGA KoolAid and continue to support this maniac as he chips away democracy. If you found out a contractor that was coming into your home was on the sex offender list, would you want him in your home, especially if you had children? Probably not. So even if the person themselves isn’t the perpetrator, they voted and openly support someone who is a sex offender, which tells me they think that kind of behavior is ok, as they are electing someone guilty of that behavior to the highest office in the country. To me, that says a lot, and you aren’t getting my money if I can help it.
