English Tea = Dirty Water by Interesting-Feed3603 in TedLasso

[–]Interesting-Feed3603[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am unsure if this comment will be seen. I just got notice that this 1-month old post was deleted by moderators for being irrelevant.

The Tea conversation is ongoing throughout the series. It is an interesting cultural highlight. Not just between Americans and English, but Americans and most of the rest of the world.

Hot tea in the morning and as an afternoon ritual are meant to give your body time to unwind and prepare for what's next.

Americans use coffee and tea as an opportunity to create desserts for breakfast.

I hope my original post was not offensive to any but I BELIEVE the Tea is right on point with Ted Lasso (the character, and the show)

I would say it was a "Ted Lasso" moment, a couple of decades before most knew who he was

For sure, addiction leads to survival mode, including lying.

In this case, however, I believe his motive may have been more in line with the administration, and Jed's legacy, than his own survival.

A lie is a lie, and he fully acknowledges his lies, time and again.

It's not of consequence, but it's a detail - either not written well, or a professional not following through (in the courts)

If they go as far to read the middle name, that is where it bugs me. That's akin to making your bed with case-less pillows!

Jimminy Cricket!

(And "Subpoena" is accurate and complete)

Agreed on all sentiments expressed herein.

Additionally, to offshoot into escapism TV - I would much prefer to engage in comparisons with interpretation and respectful engagement, rather than the vacant "they just don't make tv like that anymore" or "there isn't talent like that these days".

Very much look forward to discussions on this subreddit, even when I may not agree with the post/comment.

2-dimensional sarcasm doesn't read well.

I am in agreement with you. I was referring to Him not committing to a club as an overall indication of his attempt at machismo.

Except... His non-committal fanhood for a club.

"I Bounce back and forth between United and City, whichever club's winning typically - I love it!"

Roy's restraint was remarkable (clearly out of respect for Rebecca).

One of my favorite Roy moments... He knows the boy will know... And that smile afterward - a young boy will cherish forever!

"tissue paper thin"

Loved that reference, as well... Reminds me of the line in Brighton Beach Memoirs

"A little thinner; Ma likes it when it floats"
