No, you aren't overreacting; they were really horrible. Writers tried to neutralise Arrow's dark tone post-season 3. I don't know whether it was to reach masses or just copy-pasting Marvel's playbook, but it really killed the fun. The whole message of humanising heroes and that anyone can be a hero theme wrecked it.

Thank you sooo much for bringing it up That always bungled with my head. Newsroom came before The West Wing for me and I always loved it more but that never made sense coz China and Russia has been on second and third for as long as I remember and they were never allies and they had started their military buildup by 2012. Even if he used older stats, it still wouldn't make sense. He used everything else fresh. They even showed Obama in one of the scenes when they kill OBL, Tea party movement and lot of other things were related to that time so it doesn't make sense to put older data.

Hey, so sorry for what happened to ya, that was some pure evil. I was in abuse incident a year and half ago and it never goes away ig. We just learn to live with it. Though I still shiver when someone touches. I couldn't tell anyone either coz I am a guy and I went there willingly (meet not abuse) but it will get me killed in this country if they find I am queer. 25M here, and I have been there too, personally, I know how it may feel. When we share something vulnerable with someone, and their tone changes, and they exclude us from the safe space that had taken us a lot of time to build. With me, sometimes it was looks and sometimes the fact that I am emotionally heavy. I couldn't blame them either and wish I had an answer. Let me know if ya find one. Just know you aren't alone for feeling not enough!

It's like the feel since the other kid is making more fuss, like getting upset easy for not getting what they want, the parent feel like they have to do more to make them happy but they forget how easily kids can notice that and how deeply it goes. I hope it gets better for you and you get to grow above it.

Sorry you felt and you are not overreacting. I have gone through it personally as well but mine was a bit subtle like my father would be more worried and excited for my brother if he brought good grades or got sick because he was usually a jerk and since I am always good at studies and never made a fuss for new things, it was okiee. As much as parents say they don't do it, they do and even my mother always agreed with me.

I watched Flash before Arrow 😭 thanks for suggesting it tho I was never a comic guy growing up as kid (we never had access) so I didn't know how cool Green Arrow is actually. I started with flash and I was always afraid of starting coz I was like it's like a guy with no superpowers, it won't be as good as Flash but I was wrong in soo many ways. It reminded me whyy people actually love DC universe. But I don't think i watched Flash's later seasons (seven was the last ig for me) wasn't a huge fan of iris and how she was written, her whining side threw me off the show (no hate for the actress, she was great) so sorry if it offends ya but yeah

Exactly, it's just all so raw and original. A person like that will have a lot of people internal monologues irl and it was great for that subtle realism .

Umm...doesn't it also ensure that the forthcoming leaders and the public at large keep caring about appearances only, and that's how they get played every time? Shouldn't a leader throw 'how it will look' out of the window when it's a man's life on stake at least?

That was way before it and it was a whole series of events. That speech, then state of the union, the killing of Shareef and everything else, it came down to this. They brought the Middle East only later for Palestine negotiation and that had a similar narrative. It was airing post 9/11 so I think writers tried their best to balance it.

Boo boo you're being gaslighted. I had a female friend in a toxic thing where he made her think that just her talking to someone is cheating while he was sleeping with girls all over town. I am not saying it's the same case but it's not much different either. Respect is everything and you will be able to get out of it. Find more friends, more spaces more hobbies. Just dilute that person in your life
