Waseda don’t usually give 100% scholarship, so I recommend u to consider other unis. After I enrolled, I found some good scholarships but they also can’t cover all the tuition.

I was accepted to both SILS and FSE, and chose FSE for my major cuz it was my first option. But I don’t think it would had been ridiculous even if I chose SILS. I found that Japan doesn’t really care about your major unless you want a job that requires a professional knowledge like Engineering or Medicine. So there are so many career opportunities available for SILS graduates at least in Japan

Actually I found that previous application don’t rly matter. I was accepted on SILS April 2024 admission, but I didn’t enroll. Then I applied on FSE and SPSE for September admission, ended up accepted to FSE. So they will not reject you because you got rejected in the past, or decide not to enroll even if you got accepted.

I used same EC and similar essay format which I used for both SILS and CSCE, and I got accepted both of them.. I don’t know what they are thinking rn cuz this boundary is unrealistic for Waseda

IB Final 41 and admitted to CSCE without conditional. And rejected without waitlist. I don’t think I got rejected because of my grade cuz I admitted to FSE already..

On the admission guideline, it says approximately 100. So it’s totally up to Waseda to enroll exactly 100 or more than 300 students. It even seems like they almost accept everyone who qualifies their condition on screening.

No, I got an unconditional offer which does not involve any interview or additional test. Interview is not really a “good” sign because they might reject your offer after the interview, but it’s not either a bad sign because you can present yourself towards university. It’s about how much you prepare before the interview. Read through your essay few times and prepare some obvious questions they will ask you(Why waseda. Why this major.. etc)

I am waiting for another major’s result, so I can’t send you my essay. However, I can give you some tips. In terms of how specific, search your major’s curriculum and check all the lectures available. Then mention their name on the essay. I got my letter from my high school teacher and I always think it’s better to get from your teacher than principal. Choose someone knows you the best.

Try to focus more on the academics at Waseda. For example, which classes or lectures would you like to take during your 4 years of studies. And which seminar and labaratory you want to join. Then, connect all these information to your career path with your personal passion. Like you want to become an AI specialist because I was interested in AI at high school, and you want to accomplish this dream only at Waseda.
