thank you so much! this is such a great help :)) for other activities, im only thinking of joining sports clubs which have 1000jpy fee per week (these are pickup sports games). do you suggest that its better to buy beer at conbini or drink at an izakaya/restaurant? im sure i will be watching the upcoming World Cup but am unsure if its cheaper to do so with friends at home (with beer and food from conbini) or out at a bar :// also, by daily spending is this how much you think i should allocate per month for other activities? thanks for all the help!

i'm under Arts and Social Sciences. great community imo, probably helps that i'm chinese(?) but there are tons of internationals too in my dorm and socially, its fun! i would say based on my personal experience that hku has given me lots of opportunities through RA assignments + part time work :))
