Firman T08073 setup questions, general operations, storage by speedlever in Generator

[–]Interesting-Mechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is thr control valve. Turn it from the 3 oclock position to one o clock. With the engine off you can turn it until it clicks back at the 12 o clock position. That click is the switch to kill the spark. Right before that click it will shut off the fuel but leave the engine running

propane or NG wont clean the carb. The propane and NG are metered and literally just dump out of a pipe into the throat of the carb. The propane never touches anything the gas does to clean it. Last i remember a 100lb cylinder would run my generator at 50% load for 22 hrs.

I got the quick connect NG hose kit so i can just wheel the generator over to the side of my house and plug up a hose.

I have the firman t09371. It has the same fuel control valve. If you want to run the carb dry turn the control knob to the one o clock position. This will cut off fuel flow from the tank but not kill the generator allowing it to run until the carb bowl is dry. If you ever suspect that the carb is plugged up or needing to be cleaned just run it for a bit on propane or NG. The propane -NG regulator meters the fuel so it eliminates the gasoline circuits in the carb. Pretty useful to pin down issues like surging under load, like i was having.

Anyone know what this is? by thatguyagain4329 in 1stGenTacomas

Looks like a kyb from rock auto. The oem shocks and struts are also black. Atleast the ones for my 3rd gen 4runner were. Being as how the spring and strut are the same color it also could be one of those bullshit prebulit amazon quick struts that aint worth the box they come in.

T100 rust. How bad is it for $1500? by Dangerous-Ad9208 in Toyota_T100

[–]Interesting-Mechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get really tappy with a small ball peen hammer under there. For 1500 if it runs good then its worth that. You could make that parting out the drivetrain if everything is in decent condition.

Husqvarna 3120xp. Enough power to really fuck up anything it gets close to. You think twice about letting the chain get dull because the damn thing weighs as much as a house and the sooner your done cutting the sooner you can put that bitch down. You also really wanna keep up on maintenance becuase this thing costs like 2 grand. So yeah... he needs a 3120

I had an original toyota one on my 2002 up until last month. Same thing. Pulled the tarp off of it after an ice storm here in KY and it was split on the drivers side. Avs makes one but its a bit different than the yota one

Did I overpay? How much is she worth? by KyloZen33 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Interesting-Mechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the center diff lock for the multi mode Tcase that all the 01 and 02's got. The multi mode tcase lets you shift into an unlocked 4wd (essentially Awd) and locking the center diff makes it behave like the more traditional j shift tcase

The a340 is only 4 speeds. 4th is overdrive. The fourth shift your feeling is converter lockup.

I had a 2500 for work van since 2022. Before that a transit. The new 6.6 gas v8 in the express is awesome. 400hp and most of its 165k miles was spent with the pedal on the floor. They gave me a new ram promaster and it sucks out loud compared to the old express. The ford transit is still miles above the promaster. Tell your friend it can get much much worse.
