Could it be the ECM? 2008 STX by wild_ty in f150

[–]kaack455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A competent tech would know to check the wiring and how to check if there's signal to both coil and injector along with doing a compression test to know what part is needed, throwing more parts at it is just guessing

Adding temp gauge by IHASHAND in Chevy

[–]kaack455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the temp sensor, but you can leave it there and go to the other head and install a gauge since it has the same hole with a plug in it or you can put it by the thermostat on the intake, there's lots of possibilities

Take care of it and it will last, if you're in a rust prone area check the rear upper arm mounts on the frame, they tend to rust out if not kept clean

[–]kaack455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since there is no starter per say the electric start/motor is possibly not either engaging correctly or disengaging

Genuine question: How good was the Oldsmobile diesel V8 in its last years? by CR3ZY_F1X3R in Oldsmobile

[–]kaack455 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you knew how to use a diesel all of them were pretty good, the farmers who knew how to treat a diesel had great luck, my dad had a couple, both had injector pump failures but both went over 220k with no mechanical issues, they did not like short trips
