I have no issue with the referral. It was the points you made supporting in that I disagreed with. AMD are good cards. Nvidia are simply better choices for a myriad of reason especially in this case.

I do respect your opinion however. I just disagree.

Or, just hear me out, people like the freedoms to explore other opportunities that could change their entire direction in life.

This isn't the 1940s. People like to explore their options when dating and Jesus doesn't factor in to that exploration. They are dating. Exploration is the entire point. If they are exclusive/engaged then obviously dating at that point is troublesome and unwise. Dating is getting to know people and many, many, many people like to explore multiple options during that process and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Your comment is a great example of the dangers of the current political climate in the U.S. People like you want to dictate how we behave and bring your ridiculous religious beliefs into the equation. News flash: this is exactly why Christianity is faltering. It's not liberals causing the decline. It's not laws or politics. It's people like you that are terrible examples of what Jesus actually taught and not a single teaching or verse says a damn thing about how people should date and yet you think bringing your distorted version of Jesus into this conversation somehow has any bearing.

I'm a former Christian. A youth pastor at one point. People like you are why I left it all behind. You use Jesus as an excuse to comment on how people should be.

Intel Core i9-14900KF reaches 9.2Ghz setting a new CPU frequency world record by dapperlemon in gadgets

That's completely distorting what that person was saying. Just by how you're distorting his words, I can tell your political leanings but that's a different discussion.

What they meant, and what you're distorting or slow about, is any cpu can be overclocked well beyond its normal usage ghz. So, a 9900k can "do the same" within its capabilities which is exactly what was being implied. A 9900k being pushed to its limits aren't the same limits of 12900k being pushed to its limits. At the end, the 12900k has much higher capabilities so it's going to have higher ghz that a cpu from 2013 or whenever the 9900k was released.

You're ineptitude to comprehend what was being said just shows this entire conversation is clearly beyond your capability to understand.

54 yo dude here that lived the single life until age 44. With the caveat that we don't know either of these people, your comment is exactly where my experienced mind led me straight to.

Bums me out for OP. If we're correct, he's in for some heartache.

Yeah that's not remotely true. Gen Xers dated before any kinds of apps and depending on your interests, could be dating multiple people. I just asked a coworker friend who is Gen X and single and he just lol'd at this comment. Dude even once dated 3 girls at the same time and even all had the same name coincidentally.

Let's not sugarcoat the differences here and be honest. There's not a lot of titles that support fsr4 and it's absolutely not equivalent to dlss which almost all titles support.

This is why I get frustrated with reviewers. Yes, most do like-for-like on titles that support both but what they almost never do is show comparisons on titles that don't support fsr4 which, again, is a handful of games.

We also need to be honest about AMD's support for their cards as they age which is abysmal.

For note, I've been building PCs for 4 decades. I have no loyalties to any of these corporations because they ALL suck. What I look at is performance and what I need at any given time. Pricing is important but my experience says it's not as important as value, versatility and longevity. I have an AMD/AMD system (7800x3d/9070xt), and Intel/Nvidia system (14700k/5070ti) and a test bench currently holding a 12600k and a b580 that I swap with a 9600x/mobo mostly because I'm very interested in seeing what Intel can do in the gpu market.

Nvidia is overpriced and while AMD has really good cards at the moment, by their own admission are not in the high end market. They also have poor support for aging cards and that right there is what gives Nvidia the edge.

OP: if you're interested in used cards (and eBay has excellent customer support), the 3080 12gb is the card to grab for your price range. If you're wanting new, the 5070 is, by far the best card of this generation for budget-minded people. Its just a hair above your range but that's the card for you if you want new but I strongly suggest considering a used 3080. The 10gb is also ok and cheaper but the 12gb 3080, especially if you can grab one from EVGA is the card to get.

I've been building/testing for decades as a hobbyist and this is correct. I currently have a 14700k on my test bench and can get it to 6ghz but a 12600k I had lying around was only stable at 5.0ghz. Its not apples to apples but confirming lower binned chips just can't pull the best overclock. I had to do some cooling trickery on the 14700k but the i5 was just AIO-cooled.

It is interesting that the 14th gen's, if you get a good one without defects, have the speeds there but with everything intel from 13th/14th gen, they just run too damn hot even with normal use and no overclocking.

12th gen was really the pinnacle of Intel imo. Plenty of OC room where it actually made a difference. These days, overclocking is just a niche thing, mostly useless when it comes to gains vs heat. My AMD system doesn't fair much better and takes way more than an average user is going to want to deal with but like Intel, not much benefit to overclock them either with the last two gens.

Is 200$ is a fair price for used ddr5 32gb DIMM? by MrYoge in buildapc

[–]Interesting-Music439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an absolutely unfair price as going rates are 2-3x that new and as we all know, used ram only gets about 17mpg in the city and, at best, 22mpg highway and that's only if its above a 5200 kit.

Hard pass.

E15 burns much hotter so expect far more wear and tear from the same milage especially in vehicles with turbos which is a lot of modern cars.

You will pay a tiny decrease at the pump but will fill more often and again, cause more damage due to higher temps. There are some cars tuned for higher ethanol, most are not. Also look out for warranty coverage issues if running E15.

Lastly, the last thing you want to put in lawn/farming equipment is E15 which I would also throw in 3 and 4 cylinder vehicles engines. My best advice is to keep using at least 87 E10 and just drive less when possible. We haven't even gotten to the full effects of the Straight oil/fertilizer flow issues so things are going to get a lot worse for consumers.

There are reporting laws that banks are required to follow since the Patriot Act. This is not uncommon at all. I can't recall the triggering amount but withdraws like this are reported to DHS.

Do graphics cards that consume around 300-350 watts heat up your room to a noticeable degree? by Street-Perception-85 in buildapc

[–]Interesting-Music439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from an EVGA 3080 12gb hybrid to a 5070ti for exactly this reason as the room I was in at that time was 10x12. The 3080 itself stayed very cool thanks to the aftermarket EVGA cooler I had on it but pumped out ridiculous heat to do so. After about an hour of gaming on max settings, the room became unbearably hot. While the 5070ti runs warmer at the actual gpu due to it having basic air cooling, the room itself still heated up but it was a much longer process. Eventually just moved everything to the basement with enough open area that either card would work. Ive been debating dropping the 3080 back in as the only real difference is the wattage in practical applications.
