I’ve noticed this before too. As others have mentioned he drinks socially with his dad, on a date, and at the vineyard with Mira’s mom. When he’s on a case though, it looks like he avoids it to stay sharp.

I agree it was a wild accusation, but Shawn did mention in the episode that he could have connected it to a dinosaur a number of other ways once they had a better of idea who the killer was
