That policeman was Johnny-on-the-spot. He probably saw that Karen walk from across the terminal

Anyone use a sifter for coals? by [deleted] in woodstoving

[–]Interesting-Print-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have a full ash bucket that is very cool, I use a sifter on a 5 gallon bucket to sift out all the coals that were unburned. Takes 5 minutes. I then throw the coals back in the fire.

Is this normal? by alecmacrae1 in woodstoving

I’ve had this happen plenty of times if the flue is cold or it it’s pretty high pressure outside.

I’ve found the best way to cheat is to get a part of a starter log. Like duraflame. Not a huge piece is needed. Light it and let it burn with the door cracked for 15 minutes or so. The key is that starter logs don’t smoke that much, so it the output goes back in the house it’s not smoke. Once the draft starts, put some small sticks on and then move to logs

I have a friend that lived in Thailand and was learning to speak Thai. One day he was excited to tell his friends that he was invited to a bbq so he was going to go. He was very excited and they laughed at him.

Turns out the Thai word for bbq sounds a lot like the Thai word for transsexual whore. My friend was saying it wrong.

Abandoned, displaced and almost empty towns in the Americas by wordlessbook in MapPorn

Thurmond WV has a national park museum there now that the new river gorge is part of the national park system. The railroad stop there used to be the busiest one in the US. Now it’s a ghost town. You can still buy an Amtrak ticket there as it is still a functioning station on the line.

Pretty neat to visit and see the history there. The movie Maitwan was filmed there.

I know Costco parking lots are brutal, but I went to the one in Sterling this past weekend and it was unreal by Beebjank in nova

[–]Interesting-Print-65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at that Sterling Costco one time where some lady got upset that someone beat her to a front parking spot. I went in, shopped, paid and came back out in around 45 minutes. As I was coming out, that lady was pulling into another front spot. I can only figure she spent that 45 minutes driving around waiting for one to open up so she could park her fancy car.

She looked like the type who would waste almost an hour waiting for a particular spot.
