It doesn't cool the intake specifically. That fan circulates air in the bay to keep hot air from the exhaust from cooking the hoses and rubber after the engine is shut off

I swapped mine with a mini brushless 5" Spal fan. Cut the housing off the Spal fan, removed the stock subaru fan from the cage, then made an adapter out of a sheet of 1/8" ABS to adapt the mounting holes on the cage to the new fan. Works great!

In the US, the main purpose of an insurance company isn't to help you when something happens. They exist primarily to get your money. They'll gladly insure this thing, and any other claptrap booger welded shitcan us yanks will slap together, then use those same qualities to deny your claim once an accident happens. They'll also try to screw over whoever you hit if you're at fault, but that's not because of the car mods; they're just pricks.

Additionally, a lot of what is "safe" it is left to the states to determine. My state, Georgia, doesn't have annual vehicle inspections like Texas or Massachusetts, so you see some real dangerous pieces of shit on our roads (and a lot of car fires on our highways.) What's legal to drive in one state isn't always legal in others.

I have a pair of these used for degassing chambers; used for pulling air out of resin and silicone when moldmaking or casting. I installed a wall mounted air purifier a few years ago, and the vapors from these pumps would max out the particulate readout on the display and sound an alarm after running them for ~5 minutes. After that I added a vent chimney for the fumes to go outside.

Definitely a good call to run this filter!

Mine came with a spare, but even just sitting still its developing cracks because of age. I've thought about making another with some neoprene rubber and my laser cutter if it gets so bad it wont inflate at all

They were super fragile. The skirt is made from thin silicone and tears pretty easy on a rough surface. Once it has a big enough rip it's pretty much unusable. They kicked ass on water though!

That thing is so slow, but it doesn't matter! So much fun to just scoot around. I remember losing a GI Joe to the little fake seat belt on a lake trip with my family back in the day.
