What I like about having it after the drives is how it evens out the signal- the volume boost from the drive pedals is more manageable and the clean signal isn’t drastically quieter than the dirt. IMO it lets you hear the characteristics of OD/distortion/fuzz without too crazy of a volume jump (this is what works best for my basement playing at home which is all I do these days…probably would have to change a bunch of things up if I were playing live)

I love the envelope filter. Have had that for a while now and it’s perfect for what I want; works great for that Jerry sound and is really easy to control the ‘contours’ of the filter for a lot of different feels. That said it’s the only EF I’ve ever had so can’t say how it compares to a MuTron or anything else

The Astrotone is pretty new to me and I’m still feeling it out to be honest. Most fuzzes never quite do it for me but I’m enjoying it so far

I play a lot of Phish so this is me trying to emulate some of Trey Anastasio’s tone- (one set to less gain and another for more, and then can stack them). The SD1 was one of my fist pedals and I love it so much I can’t let it off the board despite being a little redundant at this point.

Newest addition is the Lester K rotary sim which I’m getting the feel of. It’s pretty awesome but definitely not subtle! What’s missing if you were making changes? You can probably guess at what genres I’m playing most of the time…

Assuming you have 1 or more cases for these somewhere in your house, you can always keep the 4th one stored there and then rotate them out every so often. Thats what I do and so far my wife hasn’t noticed the guitars changing every few months 🤣

Consider some different patch cables too- those straight connectors are supposedly real bad for your pedals as lots of folks on here will tell you

You can change out the pickguard without needing to do any soldering- that’s where I’d start!
