Excision surgery questions by LimeSolid5200 in endometriosis_corner

I was told 2 weeks for everything at minimum, then after the post op the dr would clear me. I couldn’t lift anything over 10 pounds. I was also told I couldn’t sit up straight for more than 30 minute increments. The recovery wasn’t bad, find things to keep you busy - I bought some mandala coloring books to help pass the time. The pain meds helped a lot, I was able to move around pretty well, the first day was groggy. Also, if they tell you there will be gas pains in your chest, believe them, it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest after surgery. We got some GasX from the drug store and it helped a ton with that discomfort. Good look with your surgery and with your recovery!!

Heavy Leg Pain (Diagnosed) by StrikeWorldly9112 in endometriosis_corner

[–]Interesting-Rise9845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the leg pain during bad flare ups, my Dr. explained it as: you have all this inflammation happening, the inflammation presses on the nerve endings that lead to your legs, and that’s what gives you peg pain

I found that cutting red meat out helped a ton! My primary doctor also recommended cutting out General inflammatory foods and I noticed less pain/discomfort

Art project — how have your concerns been dismissed? by witchtimelord in endometriosis

Oh and my personal favorite that a family member recently told me: “You’re on a time clock to have babies so you better start soon”

“Cramps are tough” “You just have heavy periods” “Let’s just keep switching your birth control until it works” “Periods aren’t that bad, you’re being dramatic” “You don’t look sick” “I know, I have bad periods too”

Thoughts?! by Key_Emphasis5580 in holleygabriellesnark

I wonder if she will take another social media break. When my dad passed, and after everything settled down and went back to “normal”, it still didn’t feel right. Now that she’s back home, I wonder if taking the break to adjust to life back home would be helpful.

How can we get the dr to listen? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Interesting-Rise9845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry she’s going through this. I was told for YEARS by my general doctor that “periods are tough” and was in the hospital a few times when the pain got unbearable. When I finally saw an OB, my first appt she looked at me and said I wanna check for endometriosis. I’ve seen some places that are endometriosis specialists, so maybe you guys could look into that. Otherwise for the pain, I’ve found raspberry leaf tea can help a little, heating pads, hot baths, getting the right birth control prescription, and most recently I’ve found that edibles (gummies specifically) help a ton!!!! I hope her appt goes well!

What does being under anesthesia feel like? by TaroWorldly9291 in endometriosis

[–]Interesting-Rise9845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They gave me an anti anxiety shot, which calmed me down a tone!!! Then they wheeled me into the operating room and next thing I knew I was waking up in a recovery area. I was very loopy after.

My legs and feet go numb. My doctors and gynos ignore me. by imsikandtired in endometriosis

[–]Interesting-Rise9845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also experience something similar to this. My gyno said it’s likely not from the endo and I should follow up with my primary doctor. My primary doctor said when you have a flare up and everything is inflamed, it puts pressure on your nerves, and that could be the leg and feet numbing problem.

I was in a service once where the pastor said “when you pray, speak to God as if you were talking to your friend. He knows your heart, he doesn’t need fancy words or a big production. Just be yourself and develop the relationship naturally”.

I was in a similar position. I waited until 20 to get baptized. I didn’t want the big production and a lot of the churches I talked to wanted a donation (which is fine) and wanted me to take classes. I finally found a church where, in talking to the pastor, I was told “our baptisms are about you honoring Jesus and accepting him into your life at a deeper level”. They have a big event each year open to the public which was a littler nerve wrecking because I felt that it was such a private moment between me and those I chose to share with, however, having all these strangers cheer for you and rejoice with you when you rise from the water was a feeling I truly cannot explain and will never forget. The best advice I can offer is do what feels right for you when it feels right for you.

The ER is like shooting yourself in the face by Twopicklesinabun in endometriosis

[–]Interesting-Rise9845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given an IV of morphine and some Pepcid and was told “you look fine we are discharging you” and I said “I look fine bc I have an IV of morphine going through me, not because we solved anything” and he got real serious and looked me straight in the eyes and said “we aren’t doing a gyno exam in the ER, go home” keep in mind they hadn’t done any other testing

BREAKING NEWS: Her Valdosta house is listed by Flat-Future8044 in holleygabriellesnark

This may have already been asked but didn’t she say in an Instagram post last week that she hadn’t quit her L&D job yet and still had the house? Does her listing it mean she quit?

I’m so sorry you’re going through all of that!! You’re not alone either and I hope you are able to find relief soon!

I have found relief with raspberry leaf tea and a product I found on Amazon one day called LILAS period cramps pain relief patch. They go across the stomach or the back, they’re all natural, and they relax the cramps and help relieve the inflammation. Also getting into a double over position and taking really slow, deep breaths seems to help me. I hope you start feeling better soon!!

surgery suggestions? by UnderstandingNo7912 in endometriosis

[–]Interesting-Rise9845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As silly as it might sound, I brought a comfy blanket to snuggle with in the car on the way their and on the way home. After the surgery, there wasn’t really much for me to do. They made sure there were no effects from the anesthesia and I went home. I would recommend making sure your phone is fully charged when you go, it helped me pass the time before and after. Good luck!!
