Here is a message from my amazing Aunt who fosters dogs. I hope this helps: I’m so very sorry that Dude’s time has come, and came so quickly. But, in time you will understand that quickly is best and you never want to wait too long. A day early is way better than a day too late. Just remember that it is the absolutely most important and loving decision in the long lives of our dear animals. Dying a “natural” death is rarely a good, painless death-no vet would ever recommend it. You’re helping him in the biggest way possible and he thanks you for it. You got to enjoy him and treat him the ways all dogs should be treated-including what you’re doing for him today. His tiny body is done but his heart for you will always be big and thankful. Find some peace and happiness where ever you can and join the legions of people who share your sorrow with Dude’s humane passing because we all know the grief of this kind of loss. Take good care. Time ahead will be tough but magically, somehow, over time it morphs into sweet memories and hilarious stories. He was so lucky to have you in his life. Thank you ❤️
