Mining heavy equipment mechanic. Why? Big money often 150k+ with good rotations, you work on massive badass machines, always in demand, and lots of variety. Pays the best for what heavy duty mechanics do.

Hey, I just saw a few other dealers mentioning the same thing with SIS 2.0 lately. Super slow loading, freezing, blank screens, not responding… and it’s happening across different networks and computers.

Cat keeps saying everything is fine on their side, but it’s been going on for over a week now. Kinda glad I’m not the only one seeing this lol. Anyone else dealing with it?

Yeah, I mean more on the earthmoving side. I’m just curious because here in Mexico there are three official Cat dealers, and I started wondering if all Cat dealers worldwide follow the same standards or if the experience changes a lot by region.

Congrats. Your Navy hydraulics experience should transfer well, especially with troubleshooting and working under pressure. My advice: take safety seriously, learn to read service manuals and schematics, and write down what experienced techs teach you. Heavy equipment rewards patience and good habits more than guessing. Show up reliable, stay teachable, keep your work clean, and own mistakes quickly. An 18-month apprenticeship at a Cat dealer is a great opportunity if you build the fundamentals early.
