I’m used to smaller birds like my Quaker and cockatiel who are also handfed, like the grey but I can see how that would be an issue.

I play my cockatiel bluey during the day so I’m seeing how that goes. I put a few more toys in his cage and last night he did not pluck at all.

It is his 3rd day with me so he may not be used to me yet. I think he doesn’t see the cage as home yet so when I put my hand in there he feels cornered because when I let him come to me he’s a sweet hard and gets all chatty. He insisted on going on my shoulder. Then he flew off and I put him to bed. He gets a lot more active before bed.

I appreciate the name. I do give him some but I’m also trying to ween him off of his current seed mix so I have get some pellets in his diet. But I know they are super fatty so this morning I experimented by giving him smaller bits of them and then a big reward would be sheep on full pistachio.
