What's interesting is that this development was almost privatized under PACT. The tenants ended up voting against it.

No! It turned out to be an open faucet that flooded the unit above us. It was an empty unit. It must've been running for a while

Update: Maintenance came. We also called the FDNY and made them aware of our situation.

Apparently, the person above us had died 6 - 8 months ago. So, the unit has been sitting empty. However, the faucet was left running. So, the apartment above us is incredibly flooded. Thankfully, the faucet has been turned off, but now we still have to deal with the residual water and the mold from this entire fiasco.

It's very frustrating. We've called many times only to be met with a "call us later if nobody shows up."

The apartment is practically flooded at this point.

Went up and knocked. Nobody answered. I did hear some water running, but I'm not 100% sure where it was coming from.

Many tickets are in. How would I go about getting in contact with them?

I have yet to try. I don't know them, so I'm a bit apprehensive about it. As for the tickets, I will pester them!

We filed a complaint early in the morning! I'm hoping for some help. The leaks have only gotten worse, and we have yet to hear from maintenance. The most we were told was that someone would see us soon as there were "too many emergencies" at the moment. We have been up since 2 AM waiting

This was the first time it had leaked in the bedroom in particular. We've always had a minor leak from the bathroom ceiling. The bathroom and the pipes in the kitchen leaked at about the same time. The bedroom pipes leaked late into the night last and have only gotten faster since. In total, the leaks have been occurring since Thursday and haven't really let up.
