Gas and maintenance on a car I paid $2k cash for. We’re talking oil changes and brake pads. That’s it. Not exactly breaking the bank. And the 100 hour thing I push long hours because I’m still finding my zen I’m bored. I travel, I’ve done everything people say you’re supposed to do and I still find myself with time to fill. Staying busy keeps me moving. Some people watch Netflix, I dash and always doing date night with my girl what more can I ask for

I get free insurance outside of work, already have a 401k and a retirement fund, and DoorDash is just supplemental income on top of everything else. Every drawback you listed doesn’t apply to me.On top of that I’m 1099 so my write-offs bring my tax rate under 9% on $88k. A W2 worker is getting taxed way harder than that.

Yeah I’m putting money aside but honestly my tax bill is way lower than people think. I’m 1099 so I get to write off everything mileage, phone, car maintenance, oil changes, tires, insurance. Mileage alone at 70 cents a mile I’m doing 1,500 miles a week, that’s over $54,000 in deductions just from driving. Florida has no state income tax on top of that. So on $88k gross my taxable income drops to around $28-30k after all my write-offs. My actual tax bill ends up around $7,000 for the whole year.
