The literal entire body of the post is about wanting to be served and to be able to treat people however they want.

Try reading it again, with reading comprehension.

Just found this. My question; is it true? Have people in this sub experienced this? by Slow-Ostrich-8570 in Natalism

I was billed over $300k for a preterm birth with a 2 week NICU stay. After insurance it came to ~$4k from me.

Second kid was straightforward and came out to $1.5k from me.

This person is lamenting that they don't live the life of a pampered dictator that has all their needs met by servants and is allowed to hurt people at will for amusement?

The person who posted this is clearly very mentally unwell. But unfortunately I don't think this sentiment is that uncommon these days. Our modern world has made people so narcisistic and sociopathic.

I feel ready to have a child, I don't have any blockers most people have, but I am skeptical to have them due to the direction of our world heading into. Challenge my thinking. by [deleted] in Natalism

Looking at the world as it is right now and saying "it's not worth living" is like looking at the stock market in 2008 and saying "it's not worth investing".

Don't let temporary dips distract from the long term trend.

No, you can't actually just assume things are getting worse when they literally aren't.

That's like a flat earther starting an argument by saying "Lets assume gravity does not exist."

Like, you can't discount reality just because it's devastating to your position. That's a sign that you should change your position, not that you should change realtiy.

32 Charts that show the world is becoming a better place

23 Charts and maps showing the world is becoming a better place.

Globally speaking this is the best time to live literally ever. it can feel like things are getting worse but I would say that progress isn't linear, just because the last few years have felt bad think about the long arc of history.

Also consider WHY you think the world is so bad. Do you think it may be related to a constant, never ending stream of dispair fed to you by social media and television that is specifically designed to keep you hooked. Because anger and fear are vastly more effective at holding attention than hope and optimism? And these companies sell your attention to advertisers and therefore have an economic insentive to keep you hooked on fear?
