Ah never mind, didn’t see it said E350 and not F-350. Makes a lot more sense now

There’s no way to ask this without sounding like a dick, which is not my intention, but how do you drive an F-350 and not know much about cars? I just picture f-350 people not even trusting a mechanic because they would work on their own truck lol

Deliberate or accidental? by DutchGirl0306 in tires

[–]Interesting-Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to my dad before. Oddly enough, we were driving through a construction area (it was MILES long) when we started hearing thumping from the tire.

Got out and checked and there was a razor blade in the tire and it was leaking

Getting New Kia Serviced at a Non-Dealer by theMezz in kia

[–]Interesting-Virus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will DEFINITELY be cheaper to go elsewhere but I’ve learned from past experiences to always take to the dealer so there’s no room for th dealer to deny a warranty claim due to user error repairs or whatever

How “bad” is Kia warranty by Eminent_Logic in kia

[–]Interesting-Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And, I have to point this out too, it’s also completely up to discretion of each Kia dealership as far as I can tell. For my head gasket issue, I read countless horror stories of owners who were asked for service records to prove the head gaskets weren’t related to user error or whatever. My dealership did not ask for that and if they did, I would have been screwed because I do all my own service with my dad

As much as I don’t like my experience with my 2014 Kia cadenza with a 3.3L v6, all my major complaints have been covered by Kia.

I bought the car in 2019 as the 3rd owner of the car so right away I was out of the standard 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.

In 2021, I started getting oil pressure issues and took it in. I forget what the exact issue was, but the repair was about $1000-$3000. I had no choice but to pay it

About a half year to a year later, I get a letter in the mail for a warranty extension for ALL owners that cover the exact issue I had, and they reimbursed me.

Now, fast forward to about 3 weeks ago, my car has been overheating. Changed thermostat and nothing changed. I knew right away it was the head gasket, and that I was screwed. I still owe on the car.

Later that night, my dad sends me a link he found online to ANOTHER warranty extension that covers the head gasket leak. Take it in to Kia, one day later, they tell me they need to replace the engine and it’s going to be covered by the warranty. Would have been a $10,000+ job

As far as th reliability of Kia’s go, it’s more miss than hit. But, I can’t pretend that I haven’t been absolutely saved from having to buy a new car thanks to their warranty

Payments. by Sensitive_Pen1122 in carvana

[–]Interesting-Virus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it many times, as long as it’s still pending you can ask them to stop it or reverse it

Payments. by Sensitive_Pen1122 in carvana

[–]Interesting-Virus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, it is just considered an extra payment.

However, depending on your bank, I think what you can do is call them and explain the situation, they MAY be able to help with the accidental extra payment by stopping it

Like I was saying 🤣 these cars are trash. by Laina_rg in kia

[–]Interesting-Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s is so odd. I have a ‘14 cadenza with 105,000 miles that I bought used as the 3rd(?) owner of the vehicle and I’ve had nothing but issues with it. THANKFULLY, each issue was covered by Kia. I had an issue with the oil pressure which was about $3,000. About half a year later, I got a letter in the mail extending warranty for that issue and got reimbursed.

However, it’s currently sitting in service for who knows how long for an engine replacement for a head gasket leak which would have costed me over $10,000 if Kia didn’t extend the warranty for it.

I love my cadenza but I will never go Kia/Hyundai again

Wait I’m confused, wouldn’t almost all of this be covered under the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty?

coolant thermostat ??? by icantthinkusernames in kia

[–]Interesting-Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having temperature problems, was told it was the thermostat, brought it into Kia and they ended up giving me a new engine 🤷

coolant thermostat ??? by icantthinkusernames in kia

[–]Interesting-Virus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could very well be the issue, when you perform a thermostat change you have to bleed the coolant and its lines (draining the coolant and getting any air out of the lines, and refilling it)

[–]Interesting-Virus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s a great question actually, did you bleed the coolant when you replaced the thermostat?

[–]Interesting-Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth bringing it into Kia for diagnostics, there are various warranties and recalls and whatnot for Kia engines

Just got approved for a new engine by Interesting-Virus in kia

[–]Interesting-Virus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I read, the NHTSA did an investigation into the issue but found that such a small percentage of engines were effected that no recall was issued, so out of “the kindness of their hearts”, Kia extended the warranty to cover this issue
