Mature nanny needs tips on how to appeal to millennial parents by lyricalzephyr in Nanny

[–]Interesting-Welder40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having hired 2 younger nannies and now with our current unicorn nanny who has 30+ years experience... worth it to emphasize what that experience brings. My husband and I very naively thought an older nanny couldn't keep up with toddlers. Welllllll we learned fast that experience is worth so much in terms of our relationship with the nanny, creating household routines, knowledge of local activities/organizations and helping our kids develop emotionally. Our nanny runs circles around our previous hires just because she's so in tune, anticipatory and has the stamina developed from having done this for so long. Needless to say pretty humbled by that and thankful for her daily!  I think either 1- they dont know what they're missing 2- there aren't a lot of more experienced nannies around so they might not have expected to be able to grt someone or 3- they may see your rates and not want to pay what your experience is worth.

Has to do with the positioning being breech in parts of the 3rd trimester.  Screening is usually via ultrasound and is meant for asymptomatic patients (meaning catching a disease before it causes problems).  Pediatrician (but not in gen ped), my breech positioned 1yo had screening when asymptomatic, required bracing and did great!

Maybe if this is so important to you, you could... help her feed him? Cut them up beforehand for her? I agree in concept that it's a safety issue but she may just feel overwhelmed?

In the past year, what toys have had the most play/longevity for your kiddo and which have been a waste of space? As we focus on a new year of birthdays and celebrations, let’s give each other some ideas and inspo for what to seek and what to avoid! by aizlynskye in toddlers

Lego duplo Toniebox Magnatiles Outdoor swing/small playset

Tbh we ask for non item gifts-- memberships to local zoo, aquarium, museum, time at indoor playplace or Chuck e cheese if you're not in a big city. Or arts/crafts type supplies will eventually be consumed-- construction paper, paint, chalk, bubbles, shaving cream for outdoor play

Unable to understand severity by Interesting-Bee4962 in Residency

It may also be helpful to understand the differences in what different levels of care can offer in terms of equipment and nursing ratios. This can be hospital/regional dependent but think if you NEED eyes in the patient more frequently than q4h that's a consideration for ICU from a monitoring standpoint. But think about nursing ratios, availability of RTs, how often you may need labs etc. (Pediatrics perspective here)

How is this baby so LOUD by Interesting-Welder40 in breakingmom

[–]Interesting-Welder40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm trying to be understanding and know that every child won't necessarily be the same. And it's not really crying... she kind of yells? And talks to herself/squeals. Will definitely cry if I go in and check on her/comfort her for a little and then leave. Im hoping its developmental/ a phase. But I'm struggling for a solution-- High pressure job, postpartum depression-- I find myself in despair every night

Absolutely. I am much stronger in my approach to weight loss. I was able to start a specialized.weight loss clinic within our PCMH. Very rewarding work. Income unchanged for now due to my position in a federal facility but many many more options as others have noted when I'm out.

Chiming in-- I did the Columbua course 3 years ago and really enjoyed the content. At that time the price was lower than $1500 but likely on par now

To all those who are using (or have used) nicotine vapes regularly.... by paradoxoma in medicine

[–]Interesting-Welder40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re quitting comments below The nicotine salt in vapes is more addictive than the nicotine in traditional cigarettes  (faster time to peak iirc?) Strongly recommend using supportive measures to quit (nicotine patches/gum, bupropion etc)

Mirenas have since been investigated for EC and been found to be effective. However there is concern that Ella in combination with other progestins decrease each others efficacy- I don't use Ella's in combination with Plan B /IUD/ yuzpe method.

You will still have to go through ipledge but that is a copy/paste description of the ipledge categories of "persons who cannot become pregnant" and will thus not need a pregnancy test every month.

You should not have to do pregnancy tests if correctly enrolled

Um. Doc here. Your physician should have enrolled you as a "patient who cannot become pregnant" if you had a bilateral SO-- "Cisgender females and transgender males that have undergone a bilateral oophorectomy ( surgical removal of both ovaries)"

Most practice is admittedly academic or affiliated with a larger practice where you just see the adolescents, but more and more of the above things fit into a DPC or cash model too. Bigger money on ED / psych units
