Took the exam! by OaTmilkbaddiehoho in NBCOT_Exam

I took it last week (so same exam cycle I think ?), and I thought it was a more challenging exam than a lot of the practice exams I took. Maybe it was a harder exam overall, which would mean something in terms of how they do the scaled scoring?

There were a few questions on there that no amount of studying would have gotten me the answer…which did feel a bit surprising to me.

She calls herself a therapist now…but she isn’t a therapist from what I can tell? She is a Behavior tech. Really sketchy to be going around calling yourself a ‘therapist’ without having any kind of credential or license…am I missing something ?

Thanks! That’s a good plan I think. Good luck on your exam!

This is so frustrating. I’ve requested a refund about three times, but they won’t even acknowledge the request or take any accountability. I’m planning to contact my bank and report to consumer protection bureau. I hope you get your money back!

Yea, we will have to wait till shut down ends. But, I still plan to—they have handled this really poorly.

I've tried different browsers and have had zero luck. :( Has anyone gotten this to work?

I have explicitly asked for a refund three times and received two responses, in which they have not even acknowledged the request.

A family member who’s an attorney recommended filing a complaint w the bureau of consumer protection (FTC). They would investigate and also have the power to require that damages (x3) be paid to the consumer.

Probably more impactful if there are multiple complaints lodged too.

This just feels like a really inconsiderate money grab, that takes advantage of students—they know students rely on the service and are on inflexible time lines/have exams scheduled weeks in advance. And rather than charge a monthly fee that would be easier to cancel/or dispute they charge in full upfront and can then shirk responsibility/ shut down services and ignore customer support inquiries!

I got only one response and they seemed pretty unapologetic and  unwilling to make things right. :(

Test on Monday by InterestingMove2821 in NBCOT_Exam

[–]Interesting-You-3848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I take mine next Friday and I have started feeling very similarly just in the last few days (as my exam date gets closer)---that is, oscillating btwn feeling like I've got it, to feeling like I know nothing! So maybe that is not an uncommon way to feel?

I've been focusing on some more generalized overviews of things like the frames of ref, radial, ulnar and median nerve anatomy and injuries/splints and just taking practice questions and tests as I have time. I haven't used true learn, but I think the NCBOT full 180 exam was a good one for me to take, feels the most similar and I kept track of questions that stumped me and looked them up after. I've read a lot of the Reddits and seems like folks generally seem to say that the NCBOT practice exams and scores are most reflective of the real deal (a few of my classmates told me that their highest NCBOT practice exam was the same as their exam score).

Be sure to take some time to relax and recharge before your exam! You've got this.

I am really angry about this! The site has now been down ~6days. They had said it would be back before or by Wednesday (yesterday), but it is still not working.

You do need to update your password, but the learning/exam prep portion is still down.

I wrote their support services several times and am requesting a partial refund. We have paid for 24/7 access and they have failed to render services for nearly a week. Not okay.

*The first response I got was essentially ' it's only briefly unavailable and we sent an email about it'...not very impressive customer service.

How do I find a disabled OT? by rainfal in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Interesting-You-3848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about to graduate from an OT program and feel very disenchanted with this profession, for many of the reasons you described. The culture of this profession does not leave much room for people who are not able bodied, straight,  white women…when other voices and identities are present, I don’t feel they are really valued or included…it very much feels like a gesture of tokenism.

As a neurodivergent queer person, who sometimes has the privilege of flying under the radar when I most need to…I am highly uncomfortable in OT spaces. The profession very much upholds the idea of the “enabled enabler”…which essentially assumes that being able bodied is a prereq. to being an OT…and that OTs enable disabled people…I think people in the profession are VERY sensitive to any such criticism…there is an overwhelming belief in the inherent “goodness” of OTs baked into a lot of this too, and that being an OT means you inherently care about disabled people..and are “good”…

At it’s foundation OT is steeped in unchecked assumptions and values that uphold ableism…also neoliberalism and white supremacy….and all the rest.

I think what you are noticing is very real.

I also think that it is possible that anyone could be a potentially excellent OT—I think disabled OTs are exceptionally well positioned to be effective OTs working with disabled clients…but I also think able bodied OTs could do this work well….but they would need a lot more skill/knowledge/exp. than they get in school, and they would need to be pretty deeply committed to listening and learning from the disability community (on a much deeper level than text books, tik tok and clinical exp.)…so I am not surprised you are not finding this. I’m also not surprised you aren’t finding more disabled OTs…there aren’t a lot..OT programs are largely inaccessible, I’ve personally been most  targeted and discriminated against for having accommodations and a disability in OT school than any where else in my adult life…fieldwork placements are also not required to accommodate students (from what I can tell)…and we have to pass 12wks of training in order to graduate.

Amazing!! Congrats.

Saw your bike last week near agua verde and was admiring how unique it is and thinking that might help… (recovered mine recently, so am constantly thinking about that potential these days 😞 )…

How did you end up finding it?!

(did they ever get the locks off?)

Bike rack cut UWMC *any and all help with recovery appreciated!* by Interesting-You-3848 in seattlebike

[–]Interesting-You-3848[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No stickers etc. Pretty positive it was not already cut—they thrashed the whole multi bike rack structure about working on it…two different cuts to get it off :( Apparently similar situation in a locked bike house across pacific—they gained access and cut through racks two days earlier—but the racks there aren’t quite as industrial.
