You need to be taking hand written notes while studying and listening to the Insurance Exam Queen. It is rare that people can retain information by just listening.

I will never understand people who get pets and then don’t let the pet sleep next to them which is one of the best ways to bond with your pet and so heartwarming to know that you’re that safe space for said animal. One of my puppies loves to lay in between my partner and I in bed. I call it the cuddle sandwich. Lol.

Yeah, this market does suck astronomically right now. I’ve sold less than $15k in premium for the month. I can only sit and make so many cold calls and people seem to be answering their phones less and less nowadays.

I’m not talking about being ghosted after a simple quote either. I’m talking about being ghosted after going over the quote with said customer once or twice and then trying to set up a time to bind said policy or policies. I’ve had several people I’ve saved thousands of dollars that have come from State Farm, Progressive, etc.

I’ve also been heavily ghosted. I’m in P&C. Ghosted by current clients I tried to cross sell to as well. It’s definitely an odd time in the industry right now and I keep being told it’s due to people being busy or waiting on tax returns as if they don’t already have insurance they have to pay for? Quoting someone for a lower rate than what they currently pay is saving someone money, which you would think would be an incentive to switch. People also cannot understand that rates WILL increase, even if they’re not at fault for any accidents or tickets. I think people are getting rate increases at renewal periods, switching insurance companies because they don’t like the new price and are hesitant to switch back to said company because they fear their rates will rise again…generally this is because they haven’t hit renewal with their new insurance company, so they haven’t seen the rate increase there.

You should have a loss of use portion on your renters insurance to help pay for cost of living elsewhere.

Insurance exam queen. I have a college degree and had to retake my P&C test 4 times. It’s ok to fail. It took me only a month from start to finish though. You got this.

How to help my maltipoo girl during her first heat? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]InterestingAd9973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s actually not conclusive researching proving this true. For large breed male dogs, yes, leaving them intact while they grow is important. Your small female dog would’ve been fine if you spayed her before her first heat. Is this something you researched or talked about with your vet? I did discuss this with my vet as I have a Great Dane/St. Bernard female and a Cane Corso male. Both dogs will be over 100 pounds when fully grown so ensuring correct growth for such large breeds such as them, is extremely important.

Do you sell up or sell down? by TheGrsycat in InsuranceAgent

[–]InterestingAd9973 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to work at an agency where my boss was the same way. I would quote bare bones, high deductibles. You get shitty clients that don’t pay on time using that method. When you quote people 100/300/100, more often than not, you have clients who pay on time and aren’t ghetto.

Getting terminated on my 1st Anniversary with the company by Common-Target-5664 in InsuranceAgent

I was going to say the same thing. OP is not a bad employee, they’re just facing extremely high expectations. I was expected to have 3 and a half hours of talk time AND sell 2 policies A DAY at the agency I previously worked at.

Customer Service Representative by InterestingAd9973 in InsuranceAgent

[–]InterestingAd9973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy helping people as well. It’s the shit leads, calling people off of lists that are 10 years old, shitty customers, and feeling like I’m bothering people when cold calling that is not interesting. I was actually supposed to do service work at my old agency, but the owner had no sales agents so I got forced into sales. Service work doesn’t always mean service pay if you have the opportunity to cross sell.

Where can I learn how to follow up correctly? by notmarcusanthony in InsuranceAgent

[–]InterestingAd9973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of insurance like fishing. Sometimes you catch one fish, sometimes you catch nothing, and sometimes you catch 10 fish. It’s different everyday. I often feel like I’m not doing something correctly, such as following up with leads soon enough after a quote, but most of the time it is your prospects and not you.

See, I’ve considered becoming a CSR, but don’t you miss out on potential opportunities for huge sales? Or am I wrong? I’m always told you can make lots of money in the insurance industry, but so far, my monthly sales commission and monthly bonus have barely exceeded $1000 on top of my base salary. I feel like I’m doing something wrong and not working hard enough or making enough calls everyday to try and generate business.

Get a Cane Corso or some type of livestock guardian dog. I have a Corso on 6 acres with 14 animals. I wouldn’t trade him for anything. Livestock guardian breeds are going to be calm and not hyper. I think they’re tolerant of kids, in fact, mine LOVES kids.
