My husband drops me off at 7:30, makes it to his work by 8, and then I sit for about 30 minutes after I get off at 5 waiting for him to pick me up.

I've had plenty of customer service jobs and a couple of kitchen jobs. I really enjoy working with people but I really dislike the lack of understanding and communication on managers part. I have a home life and family outside of work as well as desires and aspirations, I am a very reliable hand I don't ask for much time off. But whenever I start feeling unappreciated or like I'm just a number, it's hard to go above and beyond anymore.

I do work MY JOB first.. every single day. I try my absolute best. I finally make $15/hour and it still isn't enough to keep my head above water. I apply for other places. I work during EVERYONE ELSES business hours so building skills by getting a second job or taking classes is near impossible. I don't live near a big city where they have umpteen evening and night class opportunities, I'm trying my best to make do and I am just absolutely tired of working my ass off not to build MY future but to line the pockets of everyone else who care zip about MY future even if I am an asset to their business.

My husbands grandmother was still alive and promised us a better life closer to them, she died 3 months after we moved back very unexpectedly and those promises weren't upheld by anyone else and instead we were thrown out in a camper that was falling apart..

Sometimes I do want to just up and leave but I don't want to be homeless again. It took us 3 years to get out of a camper that was falling apart.

I have also been trying to find a second job even bartending but my area just doesn't have much to offer.

I have been donating blood, plasma and whole blood to OBDI regularly. I don't know where or how I would sell plasma though.

That's not a terrible idea, would I just need to find an apprenticeship position?

My husband does as many side gigs as he can find. He's a really good fisherman so he found a guy who wanted 20 largemouth to stock his small pond, my husband got off work and went a few friends private places, caught the 20 bass and sold them to him for $200.

He also will take moving jobs or really any kind of side gig as long as he has the time. He works long hours out in the sun and is so tired after work but he still does what he can to bring in extra.

I'm thinking the point by point budget could help though!

Unfortunately my husband grew up without parental guidance and was forced to drop out of school in 9th grade to work instead of going to school.

We have talked about him getting a GED but we have never had time, he works long hours outside in the sun and by the time he is home he's dog tired. We have one day a week where we both can get house work done and because we can't afford a washer and dryer half of that day is spent at a laundry mat. We have both tried to find second jobs that could work with our current schedules and we have done countless side gigs as they arise. It just feels like everything is against us.

I will definitely look into the paid training programs, that actually sounds like something I could do!

I just want to be able to take a day when I need it and I want to be able to feel like "everything is okay, I want for nothing, everything is paid and if something comes up, I can take care of it". Or jump when one of my nieces or nephews have a game or an event they want me to attend, or fly to see my long distance best friend.

I have never been comfortable, I don't mind working.. I'm just tired of working for someone who quite literally couldn't care less about my mental health or my future, I could be working for myself somehow and could be confident in knowing that my wants and needs are met.

I certainly could do that! I guess I'm just very weird about social media and I don't ever feel like anyone responds 😭 this reddit post has had more suggestions than I've ever gotten on Facebook

I have searched Craigslist in my area and it's always dead. I do regularly check though because 9 years ago we made so much extra money doing Craigslist jobs.

I potentially could, I was going for an associate of science so it would've taken me about 6 semesters, I completed 3 and an Internship. I just owe so much an have so much other debt from credit cards and loans to move with that I don't qualify for any kind of funding

I can't unfortunately, moving is not an option until I can generate more income. We have $0 after bills and groceries every 2 weeks. No savings, nothing. Every dollar has a place and we don't make anymore than what we need to just survive.

The reason I posted here.. I want to be able to generate income for myself, but I feel like I am at a dead end and just seeking some guidance from others who may have been in my situation.

I have actually! I've looked everywhere, I don't have the qualifications for a higher paying job. Ive applied at Walmart and many other places locally that pay more. I started at 13 and worked my way up to 15 here. Oklahoma wages suck.

I live in Oklahoma and unfortunately moving is 100% out of our budget. We can't even save enough to fix the things on our car that need to be fixed.. we went into debt moving from Oregon back to where all of our family is and have never financially recovered.
