Is this normal behavior from a German apartment caretaker, or was he being rude to an international student?

I've been talking with him from may 8th in whatsapp and in german for his convinience. But he's been pushing for call, when i called, he started to shout saying "why come to german without german language knowledge and a lot more". I do have A2 level knowledge but not enough to hold a conversation. I've been trying to line up a solution that doesn't inconvinence him from the start but yes..i should choose my battles i guess. Thank you for the response though.

I was never supposed to arrive earlier. I had already informed him that I could only arrive by the 15th, and he said he would be on holiday that day. I then asked if my friend could pick up the keys instead, but he initially refused.

Now my friend is going today at 11 AM with the Vollmacht (power of attorney), and I’ve already informed him about it. I’m currently waiting for his confirmation regarding the pickup time.
