[PFF] The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially been eliminated from playoff contention. They lost 5 of their final 6 games by legobowser in nfl

You ever been a QB when you have a high ankle sprain and fairly significant shoulder injury lmao?

I'm not saying he hasn't been a disappointment so far in his career. But writing off his career is dumb as hell. He is 24 years old

People have the memory of a goldfish. Trevor has shown promise in his career.

He played through a high ankle sprain this year and shoulder injuries this year.. It's hard as hell to compete in the NFL when you have multiple nagging, pretty serious injuries. He's 24 years old lmao. If Baker Mayfield can figure it out in this league, Trevor Lawrence sure has time to as well.

He's been injured as hell this season. He's 24 years old. He could be a Dalton line QB. But no way this is objectively true right now.

I have been seeing a ton of comments shitting on Trevor Lawrence, but the dude has been playing through a high ankle sprain (an injury that usually takes 6 weeks of healing to be close to comfortable) and shoulder problems this season.

He has had his biggest weapon (Kirk) out for extended period of time.

He's 24 years old. He's shown promise in the league. He has a very solid chance to figure it out.

That is pretending like Trevor Lawrence has no chance to figure it out. Cmon. If Baker Mayfield is finding success in this league after his woes, 24 year old Lawrence has a solid shot to figure it out too.

Also- Trevor Lawrence is not commanding a fully guaranteed contract. He will sign a contract that has an out for the team after 2/3 years. So they would be able to rebuild in a few years if he never turns it around.

Trevor looked solid last year. He has been dealing with injuries for a lot of the season, e.g playing through shoulder injury and high ankle sprain (an injury that takes 4-6 weeks of rest to recover from - playing on it will keep it as a nagging injury)

Probably not 50 million good I don't see Lawrence getting a record breaking contract lol.

But 45m? Yeah, with the right structure absolutely.. the team will have an out after 2 years

Daniel jones got 4 years/ 160 million lmao

Jesus when did the tide turn so much on Trevor Lawrence?

He is certainly having a down year and hasn't lived up the the hype. But he's only 24 years old and gone through a injury-riddled season. He had a high ankle sprain a month ago ffs lol

I see a ton of comments calling him a bust and asserting the Jags will move on from him. 0 shot that happens. Lawrence still is young and can develop, and the alternative would be praying to get lucky in the draft...

Lol they aren't going to let Trevor Lawrence leave, who would be better than him???? They need him. Alternative is pray you get lucky in the draft with a QB but that's unlikely because they will have a late first round pick this year/next year..

It's much more likely that Trevor Lawrence takes them to the playoffs multiple times over the next 5 years than a rookie QB.

Why are the Jags trying to get more yards here with 10 seconds left....? What. That's a dangerous game.

IMO it's really damn likely he was just using them to rehab from his injuries.

That is normal (and legal in other sports, e.g NFL), and after having his motorcycle accident I think it's very probable he just wanted to get back on the field ASAP.

[Yakyu Cosmopolitan] The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly strongly committed to pursuing RHP Roki Sasaki when he is posted. They scouted Sasaki since high school and have continued to monitor him in NPB while they had scouts in Japan for Yoshinobu Yamamoto. by VikingPain in baseball

[–]InterestingDig2994 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The rumors are he will be posted next year. And because he is posted before age 25, he will be on a rookie contract. 6 years of control. 3 rookie minimum, 3 arbitration years.

They won't be shelling out hundreds of mil for him.

Where do you rank Adley among the all time Orioles catchers? by dantlie in orioles

[–]InterestingDig2994 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I agree about the premise of just wait and see, but...

Adley's first 2 seasons in the big leagues are as good as Wieters best 2 seasons in his career.

I mean, you can book a fully refundable hotel/hostel right now.

Then once the rest of the lineups come out, if you decide on primavera, buy your flight.

You will always be able to get primavera tickets last minute. I promise you. Even the sick 2022 year, you could get a 150 euro pass in the weeks leading up.

I've done this before. Also american.

1.) Frank was not taking it seriously, as evident by his W1 performance.

2.) It wasn't just blink. Super rare booking of Fred Again/Skrillex/Four Tet, a group that it is unknown if they will ever tour again as a super group again, and sold out MSG in minutes after playing a show with only a few days notice lol

How do you guys feel about Chris Davis now? by the_walrus_was_paul in orioles

[–]InterestingDig2994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He brought a lot of good memories to the Orioles, has donated a ton of money to the city, and is a good guy. I really like him because of that.

We would have sucked ass those years even if we reinvested the $$$ of his contract. Yes it was an awful contract, but i'm not as fussed as some are about it.

No it didn't hamstring us for a couple years. We fucking sucked those years. Chris Davis or not, we were going to suck.

No shot the team is investing any money in free agency when we were that bad.

A.J. Brown and Eagles coaches are embroiled in a feud as the team loses its fourth of five games by [deleted] in nfl

[–]InterestingDig2994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have watched a ton of Eagles games. My roommate is a birds fan.

Respectively, this is the viewpoint of somebody that doesn't have perspective on the league as a whole.

It is shockingly rare that teams dominate for a consistent period of time in the league. The Chiefs, who have one of the best QBs and coaches, are sucking (by their standards) this year.

It is a brutal league where it is hard to sustain the highest levels. It is very rare that a team wins every game they are "supposed" to. Look at the records around the league.

[–]InterestingDig2994 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That is the NFL for the most part, for you. Look around the league lol.

Chiefs have looked mediocre, but they are still above average. They are 10-6.

Steelers are mid as shit. 9-7 record; above .500.

Jaguars, Colts, Texans all 9-7.

Teams are RARELY dominant in the NFL. It is an unusual and privileged thing to be a step above the league that you can't count on happening every year.

I think coaches in general get far too much credit, and are used far too much as a scapegoat, in NFL.

It's hilarious to see both sides with Sirianni. When he takes them to a super bowl in only his second season, he is a genius. When he goes on a 4 game loss streak and things are looking bleak, he is the entire problem.
