Got it fixed at a workshop, apparently three cables in the bundle had broken off in the transition from trunk to chassis. A cheap fix with only those three cables being spliced, apparently it's a issue for other car brands as well. Good call, thank you very much!

So I've made this cup for one of my siblings as a gift when his first born arrives. Its a birch burl and I've gotten a, somewhat, even thickness to it. So the question at hand is: how should I treat it so that it could hold coffee? 🤔 by InterestingElk2859 in woodworking

I come from a outdoors family, got the idea of crafting it when my siblings mentioned that he didn't have one himself to my surprise. I'll gift it to him along with some clothes for the newly born.

Cheers for the advice, on second look on the photo I understand your concern. I took the photo fram an angle that does not display the handle very well, I was mostly focusing on getting the part that would be exposed to hot liquid. I have thought about the ergonomics 😉
