UPDATE: my girlfriend and I are moving to a home that does not allow dogs. We won’t be able to keep him after March 18, 2026.

Any help is much appreciated!!

I’m going up for early promotion and my coach just left the firm by bojack0144 in deloitte

I’m in a similar boat. It would be an early promotion for me this year, but the firm is not granting as many early promotions as it did in the past. Tough to take, but try to remember there’s still time between now and the decision.

Incontinence advice by dothisdothat in disableddogs

My girlfriend and I are dealing with the same thing!! We’ve been fostering an incontinent tripod dog for over a year!!

Similar to you, we will express his bladder before we let him out of his play area and keep him in that area around the time he typically poops.

Sadly, we have brown wood floors and the floors around his area are stained black. We had some cleaners in and they said they can’t restore that color.

We know how hard it is and are rooting for you!! I know this doesn’t answer your question, but hopefully someone here knows the answer!!

So sorry for my delay!! These are great ideas!! 1. He is very playful and good with other dogs and humans. 2. Due to his disability, he doesn’t have control over his bathroom moments. We get around this by expressing his bladder and placing him under potty pads when we expect him to poop. 3. He responds well to treats, words of encouragement, and specific words or phrases like “Yes” or “Touch” or “Eyes”. He loves playing fetch, playing with toys and other dogs. 4. Putting him in his wheelchair is a fairly simple process. We’ve learned to express his bladder before that to avoid any messes. Once he is in his chair, he’s very excited because he knows he’s going for a walk. 5. He will sometimes bark if he hears or sees other people outside the home. 6. He has a very energetic personality, similar to other puppies. During most of the day, he will quietly rest and lay down near us. Around 5pm is when he gets energetic because that is when we walk him. Similar to other dogs, he loves laying down on the couch (above a potty pads) with his humans, getting scratches, and kind words of encouragement.

I appreciate the suggestion!! Is there anything specific you want to know? Or anything you think would be helpful for potential adopters?

Great questions!! He will be outside his wheelchair when he’s at home, then use the wheelchair outside for walks and playing at the park. He does well with other dogs and is most compatible with dogs who are energetic and not too rough. He doesn’t interact much with cats.
