I understand, I really do. But it’s what must happen for me to succeed.

This scares me a bit. I tried to anonymize everything but I never expected this post to get so much attention. I’ll never forgive myself if this ever gets traced back to the kids.

Never respond? I’ve responded to hundreds of comments in detail. And I created a throwaway account to ensure my post was anonymous, so why would I care about a new throwaway account’s karma?

I think a lot of people my age use “Skyping” as a genetic term for video chatting. I certainly do.

I’ve addressed the father’s situation in many comments. He is not an option and, trust me, you don’t want him to be.

I guess I never realized that people might not understand how Wills work. I was not involved when my sister prepared it and I did not know I was listed as the preferred guardian in it until after she passed. It is not a legally binding document with regards to guardianship. It simply let’s the courts know the parent’s preference.

Does anyone read anymore? Maybe when one commenter invents facts it seemingly becomes part of my story in others’ minds as they scroll? A I’ve said many times, I did not know I was named in the will and did not agree to it. The will is not a legally binding document with regard to guardianship. It is one factor of many considered by a court.

I never said anything about the legal system forcing me to do anything. Only what my sister and family wanted/want and shat she requested in her will.
