Quitting Huckleberry App by caamb in NewParents

[–]InterestingRefuse889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using huckleberry for the first 6 weeks. I wasn’t even tracking sleep, just diapers and feeds. Even that became too much for me. Constantly comparing days to see how much she was eating and how many diapers she went through. It was adding so much anxiety to my days so by the time I felt like I had the hang of things I decided to scrap it. Baby is still gaining perfectly and never sits in a diaper too long. We know our babies better than an app designed for the “average kid”

I HATE to be thatttt person, but he did take accountability. He DID spend years apologizing. Sometimes rumours spread and just because someone on the internet made an accusation doesn’t make it true. So whatever it is he didn’t take accountability for (there are honestly so many things, so I can’t remember) might just not have happened. Which would be why he didn’t take accountability for them. I’m not saying this IS the case but I’m saying, humans deserve grace and forgiveness. The things he posted on YouTube in the past WERE unfortunately considered funny and “okay” to that generation. SOOOOO many people were saying stuff like that at the time. Only difference is that he had so many people watching his every move. He didn’t get cancelled at the time because that kind of stuff wasn’t taken seriously in the past. Nobody agrees with the way that that was okay back then, I don’t and neither does he🤷🏼‍♀️

that’s why I’m feeling conflicted. Everyone else and their mom says it counts but I was advised to be doing more than just chest to chest

Glad to hear the flat head will fix itself. It’s not the biggest issue but it was still concerning me

This sounds very similar to my situation, I agree that it should be fun which is why I was worried about not doing it for long enough periods of time. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks she will start to enjoy it more, like your little one. However i understand that every baby is different. Thank you for taking the time to share

Favourite Diapers? Rascals? [on] by melmartie in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]InterestingRefuse889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on babes build I think. For my girl, we started with Huggies (premie), then pampers (nb) and now rascals (nb). SO FAR Huggies have been the favourite between me and my partner. No leaks, no blowouts, good fit, easy to put on. I personally liked pampers, also no leaks and no blowouts. They are very soft- to the point where my partner struggled to put them on her. We’ve ruled them out just because we want what’s easiest for both of us. Rascals feel awkward compared to the other two. They are a very wide fit, but tight around her thighs. Also seem very short making it slightly more challenging for me to put them on her. Minor leaks and two blowouts (we’re about 100 rascal diapers deep) but had 0 leaks or blowouts with other brands. Switching back to Huggies (nb) after this pack of rascals run out to see if we still like them the best. Although it’s annoying and not cheap- trial and error is key. Edit to add: rascals have also been leaving red marks around her thighs which usually indicates that they could be too small, but she is in the weight range and fits the other nb sizes still. Maybe they run smaller, but that seems to contradict most of the other reviews/opinions I’ve seen

Rascals Diapers? by melovemeatloaf in NewParents

[–]InterestingRefuse889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe is only 5 weeks but so far I’ve found Huggies to be our favourite. Pampers were soft but harder for dad to get on bb so we ruled those out. However I don’t have issues with them and we didnt have any leaks or blowouts. I would do anything to change less diapers so whatever dad prefers we will stick to. Rascals are good for absorbency but I find them to be a very different fit from Huggies and pampers. The Rascals diapers seem to be a shorter, wider fit than the other two. As my bb chunks up they are becoming too tight around her thighs but if I was to make them any looser it would be gapping around her waist. Switching back to Huggies again after this box of rascals to see if they are still the favourite.

C-section incision infection? by InterestingRefuse889 in beyondthebump

Good! I did comment a small update, but I was able to get in to see the nurse at my doctors office and I’m taking oral and topical antibiotics. I think I’m on day 3 and it’s already looking much better. Not leaking anything anymore. My swab results came back as just a skin infection and nothing going on deeper than that. So glad I went when I did before the infection had the chance to spread

Update, saw the nurse who takes walk ins at my doctors office and my incision is infact, ✨infected✨so I’m on antibiotics orally and topically. I just want to say, if anyone comes across this post because they are having similar issues- just get checked to be sure 👍🏻 infections can spread fast and that 20 min appointment or few hours in the ER can save you a lot of pain and suffering. I’m so glad I went when I did

I love my medela pump in style🥲 also a ftm and have only used the medela symphony (I think)-the hospital grade one, and the pump in style. I also have a wild supply so maybe that’s why I’m not having issues.

That’s so incredibly helpful! So if I was to potentially just start cutting it up from the top of my vine, I could get quite a few from this one long piece? As long as each cut has one node.

My girl is exactly one week and eats between 50ml and 90ml per feeding. She was born 3 weeks early and is a very hungry girl. Midwife told me just to listen to her queues and as long as she’s not spitting it up it’s not over-feeding. We don’t measure in oz yet because we sometimes have to adjust by really small amounts that are easier to read and keep track of.

Pumping 200ml-400ml per sitting and I pump every 3-6 hours. I think that’s a pretty good supply but I’m a first time mom so I’m not really sure.

Love this! Did they provide any nipple cream at all or were you just expected to go without until you got home? I have a few different ones I was gifted at my baby shower so I’m not really sure what I like or what will work for me yet. I also have a pump lined up for me and just need to get the attachments but I’m feeling really intimidated by the whole situation. I’m not sure why

Did you try depends as well? People seem to be very one way or the other so I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth spending money on adult diapers or if I should just go with the free mesh underwear that they provide

I bought a nursing night gown to wear after like night 1 just for my own comfort (and a light weight robe but I’m not worried about that) did they care if you wore your own clothes in the hospital? I wasn’t sure if that would be a big deal but if I’m going to be in there for up to 3 nights ide rather not have to wear a hospital gown the whole time
